Oh, JZ. I'm so sorry. When my FiL was not doing well in the ICU, DH was the only one who was hearing the dr's bad news and I know that was a terrible burden for him. Take care of yourself, my dear.

The last time we were in church, the sermon was about death and loss, and our minister has been a hospital chaplain, I guess, and he talked about being the person who had to call the family in the middle of the night, and all he would say is, "She's taken a turn. You should come." All this to say, I don't know how much you have to communicate, given everything.
