What you did to me was unbelievable, Connor. But then I got stuck in a hell dimension by my girlfriend one time for a hundred years, so three months under the ocean actually gave me perspective. Kind of a M.C. Escher perspective, but I did get time to think.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Atlantic coast, southeast of Orlando.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I hope Hec and Matilda are still well.

We're fine. No symptoms.

After a week of lumping about on the couch, Matilda erupted into a frenzy of productivity over the last couple days: doing art, cooking projects, working out to YouTube videos, cleaning the living room and doing her (now optional) homework unprompted.

I'm getting a little burned out on 3x3 meals a day, plus coffee and snacks and doing a full sink of dishes twice a day. Bah.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Fuck. We're getting bad news on JZ's dad.

He's in jeopardy now.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I'm getting a little burned out on 3x3 meals a day, plus coffee and snacks and doing a full sink of dishes twice a day. Bah.

So. Many. Dishes.

We also discovered this week that we do not own enough bowls for all 4 of us to eat 3 meals a day at home.

Leftovers night (formerly Thursday) is now a thing of the distant past because all the leftovers are becoming next-day lunch. On the one hand, less waste, on the other hand NOW I HAVE TO COOK EVERY FREAKING NIGHT ARE YOU KIDDING ME?

I'm looking online for a good bodyweight training program to complement the stationary bike downstairs. Any recs? Must be appropriate for fat beginners with bad knees. (Ideally free but most services have at least a 30-day trial period.)

Oh no, Hec. Fingers crossed hard for all of you.

Ann, that's a ferret.

All best thoughts for JZ's father.

Thank you. They were hoping to extubate him today, but he's running a high fever and the lungs are filling up. He's a 79 year old man with emphysema. So...just about the worst possible candidate.

At this point they're worried about permanent damage, including cognitive function even if he does recover. Don't really know yet but this is a very bad turn.

Ann, that's a ferret.

Also, Jessica, can your husband do some of the cooking? Also, how old are your kids? Are they old enough to make simple dishes with adult supervision?

My father wasn't much of a cook, but even he had 3 or 4 things that he could cook in a pinch.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Oh no! Here's hoping they can get JZ's dad through this safely.
