askye, I'm pissed at my 78-year-old dad continuing to work at Kroger and saying "If I die, I die," but at least he's not sitting on my couch and potentially getting me sick. Matthew's friend is an ass, and Matthew shouldn't be encouraging it. He's lucky you don't make him sleep outside for 14 days.

'Suela, I'm in pretty much the same place as far as living alone and liking it, but this whole thing is making me appreciate getting out of the house. I may start taking a short walk around the apt complex at lunch.
At least role reversal isn't a thing with my parents - they're staying home like sensible people. Although Dad has a tendency to come up with Projects - I may go down there after this lifts and find an actual airlock on the back door.
Dana, how did DH's interview go?
Good, from his side. At least, he doesn't think he would hate it, which is the bar I'm aiming at.
Of course, we have no idea what their timeline really is, so we're at the thumb-twiddling stage. The next step, which was going to be an in-person visit, would now be a video interview.
Well they were just in the kitchen getting a snack because hey! munchies so now I'm trying to figure out how rude it would be to go around lysoling everything that just got touched.
I think you're past worrying about being rude. They're being stupid and dangerous ... which trumps rude. Spray at will!
New York is emphatically not under a shelter-in-place order because our governor has decided it's very important not to call it that. Therefore we are on "PAUSE".

That is even funnier than Ohio's governor insisting that it's not a lockdown or a shelter-in-place; it's just a "stay-at-home." He literally said that during the press conference.
The phrase "shelter-in-place" was apparently a big sticking point for Solano County. To be fair, it gets used for things like industrial accidents where you are sealing the windows until the all clear and this is not that, but that's why we are "shelter at home" instead. Or whatever the statewide thing is, I forget the terminology at this point.
I can't help but think the stay at home pleas would work better if we had adequate testing and people knew just how much of this virus is around us. One of my office managers was saying she thinks she probably had it a couple weeks ago because she was forced home to bed with horrible fever and breathing issues. She's young and healthy and stayed home forcing hot broth into herself and recovered. Now she wishes she could know if she did have it and maybe is safe now around her patients. But, no way to know!
McMaasters is having a press conference right now, I've missed most of it but it doesn't look like we are being put under shelter in place orders but we are being told to act as if we are infected and could infect others. The police have the authority to break up groups of 3 or more that are deemed a public health risk but it doesn't seem like shelter in place orders are in effect.
We just need shelter in place orders.
