Oh no, JZ! Much health~ma to you and all the ZMayhems! May the whole thing remain boring.
I'm Marie-Kondo-ing my jewelry. When I get depressed, I buy stuff, mostly jewelry. I get depressed a lot. There's a mountain of jewelry on my bed right now. Costume, vintage, antique, things I forgot I had, things I don't know why tf I bought. So far the keep pile is smaller than the not-keep pile, so that's good.
We could have a jewelry round Robin! Exchange, whatever. Like the nail polish one!
Signed, also a jewelry hoarder.
Umm, I wouldn't recommend this. Granted I have no experience with nail polish removal, but I use acetone in the lab all the time. Acetone already has a high vapor pressure, and if you heat it you get even more fumes, which are wicked flammable. Plus it boils at 132°F, which is about what my hot water tap gives out, so it'll boil in hot water, which would make things worse. Don't do it.
Your hot water tap is WAY hotter than mine, dang! (I use the foil and cotton method, generally, but have resorted to the warmed method in the past when that hasn't worked. That said, I'll heed your warning and warn other nail nerds!)
My family did a Zoom chat this afternoon, which was nice. My mom was amazed at the technology (and also couldn't follow our directions to keep her whole face in the frame, so we mostly just saw the top half of her face for most of the call.) We're working out the logistics for doing our Passover seder over Zoom. (I think I might need to use my university WebEx account for that, which I didn't want to do, because all the videos get saved on the university server for 48 hours, but all the free accounts have time limits that won't work for the seder.)
::does a little Temp Under 99, Bitcas! celebratory dance::
::hastily sits back down, lest dancing lead to overheating::
Still. That's my only remaining symptom, and if it goes away then the quarantine clock starts running down. YEAH!
Woo for symptoms going away!
Health~ma for the Zmayhems, and condolences for Matilda not getting her first choice school. But may the backup school be fabulous!
Maria, all good thoughts for Medic!guy.
KatieB, whatta mensch. I'm glad the man wasn't actually physically aggressive. I'd have freaked, I'm afraid. Good for you for grey rocking.
ND, I'm so sorry things have come to this. All possible good thoughts for coming out the other side of this relatively intact. And all best to you and K, meanwhile.
I know I've forgotten people, but you're in my heart anyway. I love us.
But may the backup school be fabulous!
Nope. We got none of our choices.
So now we have to reject the assignment and try to get into her school of choice. This could drag into early school year. Fuck!
