Kaylee: You're nice, too. Mal: No, I'm not. I'm a mean old man.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I imagine you can get things delivered, but let me know if there's anything that I can drop outside your door.

Thanks, shrift!

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Health~ma for the Zmayhems, and condolences for Matilda not getting her first choice school. But may the backup school be fabulous!

Maria, all good thoughts for Medic!guy.

KatieB, whatta mensch. I'm glad the man wasn't actually physically aggressive. I'd have freaked, I'm afraid. Good for you for grey rocking.

ND, I'm so sorry things have come to this. All possible good thoughts for coming out the other side of this relatively intact. And all best to you and K, meanwhile.

I know I've forgotten people, but you're in my heart anyway. I love us.

Nope. We got none of our choices.

So now we have to reject the assignment and try to get into her school of choice. This could drag into early school year. Fuck!

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Ugh, Hec. That is awful! Everyone should want Matilda because she is awesome.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

She got assigned to a fucking VOCATIONAL SCHOOL!! No, she doesn't want a career in the Culinary Arts.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

The culinary arts are great, but this isn't even a culinary college feeder school for serious foodies--it's a vocational school with small AP and honors programs, but most of its energy focused on kids who will likely be going straight to work out of high school.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

That must be a blow, for Matilda and you guys. I am so sorry.

Thanks for the nail "tips" everyone. I wasn't sure if acetone worked on acrylic. I really just need to get my thumbs and index fingers short.

Now tagless for your comfort.

Sophia, I am going to have to remove my gel coating in a week. Your nails will be thin, but buff them and put on a clear coat until the grow back out.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

It must feel like Disaster Voltron for Matilda -- sheltering in place, getting into none(!!!!!????) of her HS choices, AND her mom getting sick.

Good thing she has parents to advocate for her. Trying to find out what the fuck was wrong with the selection process for ALL of those schools, especially a review to see if some test score was recorded wrongly so the calculations as to whether she'd even get considered was below some threshold?

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

forgot to take my meds this weekend. Turns out a respiratory pandemic is not a great time to not take allergy and anti-anxiety meds. Little anxiety attack this morning as I was all congested and couldn't get a deep breath.

le sigh

have taken meds, a hot steamy shower, and put some vapo rub on my chest. All seems better now.

I went with water instead of coffee this morning. My stomach is a bit wobbly, I am assuming stress related, and I think the acidity is not gonna help.

Back to work. I am going to do some adjustments to the home set up today, so my computer is higher and I don't have to look down all day.
