May your entire disease course be as boring and uneventful as it is right now.

Amen!! Meanwhile I suddenly hear my roommate coughing up a storm in her room. Oh dear. I can't really isolate from her unless I bring her all her food. But I also don't want to share a kitchen with her?? But maybe I already have it, who knows.

Sophia I'm sure you could make a ton of masks easy!

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

Health~ma to JZ, Matilda, and David. JZ, I'm so sorry you have it but I'm very glad it seems to be a mild case.

MedicGuy transported his first suspected COVID-19 patient last night, and couldn't assess risk since the patient only spoke Arabic. He had all the proper PPE (but we won't think about how his N95 mask expired in 2018), so protocol is to self-monitor for symptoms. We'll find out in 3 days if the patient tested positive. I had been going to the shop to help my father and sister out, but I've stopped as of last night. Even though I keep my distance, it's not worth the risk.

He's exhausted all the time, and it's only going to get worse.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

That is so hard, Maria.

I know I can put out a lot of masks. I think it is the idea that my actual work, a major medical center, is considering us as a solution makes it seem all the more dire.

Also, how do I take off acrylic nails- well not acrylic nails, but acrylic over my nails which have gotten long? I already have one failure, I am obviously not getting them done right now, and I don't think I will be able to sew with these nails! Maybe I just try to cut through the acrylic with them short? I don't really care if it looks crappy!

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Theo, do you have oil for your sewing machine? I know I need to lube mine and it's only been sitting for a year.

Jacqueline has tested positive, so we're under strict quarantine for the next two weeks.

I imagine you can get things delivered, but let me know if there's anything that I can drop outside your door.

Sophia, you can soak them off with acetone polish remover. It should soften them up so all you have to do is slide a cuticle pusher (or similar flat implement) underneath to pop them off.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

If you put the bowl with the acetone in a bowl of hot water to keep it warm, it works faster.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

Umm, I wouldn't recommend this. Granted I have no experience with nail polish removal, but I use acetone in the lab all the time. Acetone already has a high vapor pressure, and if you heat it you get even more fumes, which are wicked flammable. Plus it boils at 132°F, which is about what my hot water tap gives out, so it'll boil in hot water, which would make things worse. Don't do it.

Our wings are not tired.

At the nail place they put the acetone on cotton balls and wrap the finger tips in foil to hold them in place for like 10 minutes or so before attempting to remove the acrylic. The also rough up the nails before putting the acetone on them.
