I'm worried about my parents, not for any particular reason beyond the relatively bad numbers in New Orleans. If one of them gets sick, I'm going to be pretty tempted to just drive down there and help take care of them, to try and reduce the exposure of the others.

Since I can work from home now, and my mom has a car (she has a car and can't drive- I can drive and can't have a car)- I am wondering if I should just move in with her for the duration. We could also move her up here, because I have a bed and a sofa bed, but that would be even closer quarters. We are in a weird situation because she is about an hour drive from me, when neither of us drives, so it frankly might as well be across the country. I also have no TV and all she does is watch TV all day.
Oh man. I am so sorry Matilda didn't get in to the school she was so excited about, but I love that she is still happy for her friends who did. And it's good to hear the school she will attend has a good program for her.
ND, I'm so, so sorry you have to do that. But I want to echo what so many people have said about the reputation you've built and the experience you've amassed being such an important foundation for the future.
KB, wow. There was no staff around during this?! I'm so impressed you just stood your ground and let them run out of steam. And really disgusted at the way some humans feel it's okay to behave.
First day home after three days at the bakery. We sanitize everything regularly, and wear gloves handling food, but it's beginning to feel risky to be interacting with so many people. And of course, "so many people" is still not nearly enough to really keep us operating for long.
Sophia, remind me again why you can't have a car?
I just don't. At first it was because I couldn't afford it, and now, it is just because there is no cheap parking at work- I would need to park off-site and be bussed, and pay my job more than the cost of a buspass a month, so why not just take the bus from my house to work and use the money for other things.
Jacqueline has tested positive, so we're under strict quarantine for the next two weeks.
Her fever has been manageable (so far), not spiking too high. Hopefully her body can ride through this without anything serious. [knock wood]
Matilda and i don't have any symptoms. But we're definitely going to get stir crazy.
Oh no! ~ma and safe healing vibes to her, and stay healthy vibes to your household and also the docs she works with!
Oh no! Much health ~ma for the whole household.
I'm glad she got tested so you know definitively that JZ has Covid-19 (and so the doctors can be informed), but that still sucks. It sounds like she's in the 90% (or is it 80%?) of people who just feel like crap for a week and then recover.

That's definitely been the way it's presented with her so far. None of those high spiking fevers. Even the cough has been manageable.
She's been isolated in the bedroom since she got the fever, and was already working most of the time up there.
