One of my friends is a doctor, and so is her husband. They decided that, until they feel like this pandemic has passed, they're having their kids stay with her parents, and not seeing them in person, so that they don't expose the kids or grandparents to corona. It must be so hard for them -- the kids are about 4 and 7.

Thanks for all the support re: adventures with the worst of people at the grocery store. We live in exciting times now, yo.
It's a little funny to me: I wasn't physically frightened. I'm a big strong woman and thought I might do pretty well defending myself, but I just didn't want to bother with subsequent consequences if I gave them any smart talk. It was so much easier to go Gray Rock and watch them get bored.
I keep thinking, if that was my teenager, I'd be so ashamed to see him act like that.

Here's hoping the test is all clear, JZ.
I'm sorry Drew. Echoing what others have said, the hard work you've done has let your company build a good reputation that won't be forgotten when the current crisis eases and rebuilding becomes possible.
Katerina, you have so much more chill than I would have in that situation. I don't think I'd have been able to keep my disdain to myself.
I'm sorry, ND. This is heartbreaking. And like everyone else, I hope it's only temporary.
JZ, tons of negative~ma.

Truly. I am a gentle soul, but also a mirror. If you are being an ass I just can't help myself and will give it right back. Reason #1 that I mostly make DH deal with our doctors, because they can be asses.

That is really very responsible. The reason that my doctors have made me crazy getting them all WFH capable and telemedicine configured is twofold. They really don't want to spread this virus among the office staff and their vulnerable patients. Also, they were losing money from canceled visits. Not sure which is the primary concern, but they really don't want to contribute to the possibility that their patients and staff get sick.
Yikes, KB. That would have really freaked me out.

That's definitely the right thing to do, but I can't imagine how hard it must be for them.
Not much to report here. ltc is making a card for her grandfather, and I'm watching cooking shows.
My cousin in Texas made his 19 year old move home, but his 22 year old PA student is staying at her rental 45 miles away. They have friends who asked their 19 to come home from college and he refused and now the grandfather has come to stay with them and the 19 year old cannot for the duration.
I'm worried about my parents, not for any particular reason beyond the relatively bad numbers in New Orleans. If one of them gets sick, I'm going to be pretty tempted to just drive down there and help take care of them, to try and reduce the exposure of the others.
Since I can work from home now, and my mom has a car (she has a car and can't drive- I can drive and can't have a car)- I am wondering if I should just move in with her for the duration. We could also move her up here, because I have a bed and a sofa bed, but that would be even closer quarters. We are in a weird situation because she is about an hour drive from me, when neither of us drives, so it frankly might as well be across the country. I also have no TV and all she does is watch TV all day.
