I reached out to my 18 direct reports today, and spoke to 15 of them on the phone. (I texted everyone first to ask if it was a good time to call.)
I am an introvert who dislikes the phone, and I am TIRED. But everyone is healthy and it was good to hear their voices.
Timelies all!
My direct supervisor realized that our setup was not ideal for the times(we all sit along one table, basically shoulder to shoulder) so she set up a schedule where people take turns staying home. Tomorrow is my turn, so we'll see how that goes.(Not working from home, just staying home)
Isn't the deal with Jumanji that you can't just stop playing, you have to win?
I didn't see the original, but based on the remake with Mr. The Rock, yes, you have to win. Sometimes using sexy dance fighting.
I'm not sure I saw the original all the way through. I think I was working in a movie theater when it came out so I saw bits and pieces on my breaks.
I hope your day-at-home is good, Sheryl. Mr S vibes your way.
I love Jumanji deeply despite seeing the original a billion times. I may need to rewatch.
Same. My kids loved the original Jumanji.
The boys made me watch it repeatedly as kids do, and I didn't mind.
So I just made chicken tenders with a proper three-step coating including toasted panko, and I have to say, it was worth it! But I hate throwing out the leftover egg, etc.
So there seems to be an idea that since I'm off work until at least the 30th and I'm getting paid I should go to the beach, in Florida.
I wouldn't. Between all the recommendations against unnecessary travel and the quantity of spring breakers who have been in Florida anyway that seems like a bad idea.
One thing about WFH. It does make dealing with a migraine a little easier. Not that I did much more than keep up with emails.
In regard to the fathers (any mothers?) who are not taking precautions, I saw a story about an older couple - in their 70s, I believe - who announced to their adult daughters that they'd booked and were still planning on taking a cruise this month. Leaving from a virus hotspot. Both daughters called them up and yelled at them until they decided that maybe they should cancel.
My family had that exact same conversation a few weeks ago. The cruise was supposed to be last week.
My university keeps sending out new emails with lists of online teaching resources that we can use or can't use, or things that we must do or must not do. Twice now, I've gotten something set up and then gotten an email that said that I can't use it.
