I've been still sniffling and coughing form a cold I had a month ago. But since this weekend my throat has been a bit sore on and off, which is making me low-key paranoid. But one of my coworkers did come to work sick last week, so it's probably that if anything.

I've been threatening my nose with the neti pot - seriously, is there a wormhole to a goo dimension in my sinuses? - and today my voice is starting to go.
Teppy, I realize this is wildly inappropriate and displays a distinct lack of boundaries... but you could call Kroger and threaten to sue the crap out of them if anything happens to your 78 year old immune compromised father who is working for pin money...
I don't think I have a thermometer. Chances are they are probably out of those too.
I had this realization last week. With my allergies, I figure I'm likely to have any of the other symptoms at any time, so I'd let a fever tell me I was sick. I hit 2 different Walgreen's and both were completely out of all thermometers except the 70 dollar one. Randomly, I found them in stock at the 99 cents (only) store. (Didn't feel the need to buy them all. Did buy 2, just in case)

He's an autonomous adult, damn it, which means he gets to make this stupid-ass decision. (My mom, who is 72 and healthier than a lot of people 20 years younger than her, and my stepdad, who is 60 and is more germophobic than Howard Hughes, are isolating themselves like they're in a bomb shelter. They're an interesting contrast to my dad, who is like, "If I die, I die." [No, last night he literally said to me, "If this is it, I've had a good life." And my reaction was "You DUMBASS, this is something YOU CAN AVOID but you're choosing not to WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU."])
Honestly, the only way I can deal with my dad's unbelievably fucking stupid choice and NOT have my anxiety go through the roof is...to kind of not think about it. My worry is all saved for my immunocompromised husband who's still recovering from heart surgery. I don't have the emotional spoons for any other worry, especially for dumbass fathers who make incredibly bad choices.
Okay, I will admit one thing that I might be...not *worried* about, but would like some clarification on. One of the conditions that puts people in a high-risk category is hypertension, which I do in fact have. BUT because I take blood pressure meds, my blood pressure is normal and has been for years. So I have the diagnosis of hypertension, but I am not actively hypertensive. So I'm not sure if that makes me high risk or not. I'm leaning pretty hard towards not, but I haven't seen any clarification about it, and it's not worth emailing my doctor about, because I have no doubt that they are swamped right now.
Hey guys. I was away for while, but I've skimmed like a skippy thing to get caught up.(It was kind of impressive; a couple mentions of the virus towards the beginning of the year, then we hit Feb 26 and BOOM.)
Here in not-so-sunny San Antonio we haven't hit hardcore restrictions yet, but theatres and libraries are closed, also the farmer's market. I work in a satellite office with one other guy, so we''re still coming in, just keeping our distance. Some of the guys at the main office are doing WFH.
The usual suspects have been scavenged off the store shelves, including TP and eggs. I'm monitoring my temp, but no symptoms so far, except everything I can blame on the oak bukkake.
Fingers crossed for everyone taking a business hit! Add me to the people very glad we have this site.
(Oh, and congrats to Maria on the engagement and msbelle on the job!)
I think that's smart, Teppy. Just this week I made my case with my mom about flying and then dropped it. They're adults.
Well, I can scratch two annoying things off my to-do list: did the census form, which didn't take long, and got my taxes done. Had to take that to a professional, since I closed out an annuity account my mother left me; I've always gotten by with the 1040EZ, but I didn't think that would work this year.

Steph, I am in a similar situation. I am assuming increased risk until proven otherwise. I am currently taking an an ACE inhibitor, and an angiotensin II receptor blocker, so I found this video interesting: [link]
