I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Stuff is blooming and my allergies are getting cranky, so my nose is perpetually running, but all I can really think is "Sweet! That's not a COVID-19 symptom!"

Hahaha same! I also occasionally cough but I know it's the same cough I've had since, like, October and it's less frequent if anything so it doesn't worry me much. I have been taking my temperature randomly (it's always 97.something)

I'm gonna start decluttering, too. Knowing that there's no chance that anyone will be visiting anytime soon takes the pressure off getting the "public" parts of my house in order first, I can just tidy up wherever. I think that might actually be helpful.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

I had the beginnings of a scratchy throat this morning, which sent me into a brief panic, but as it's abated with coffee and soup I think it was due to either allergies or sleeping with my mouth open. Still taking Zicam in case it's the onset of a garden variety cold, which I do not want to deal when tissue paper is being hoarded.

Because books.

Happy anniversary, Laura and Brendon!

I've had that asthmatic cough forever, it seems like. Today I woke up really congested and juicy, so that's sinus, as far as I can tell. Taking my temp randomly, too.

Our wings are not tired.

I don't think I have a thermometer. Chances are they are probably out of those too. We have coughs, and sore throats, and sniffles on and off.

My son has now voted. I'm a good mom who drove him to the polls to cancel out my vote. Although he voted with me on the local issues.

hip deep in pie

I've been still sniffling and coughing form a cold I had a month ago. But since this weekend my throat has been a bit sore on and off, which is making me low-key paranoid. But one of my coworkers did come to work sick last week, so it's probably that if anything.

You've got friends to have good times with. When you need to share the trauma of a badly-written book with someone, that's when you go to family.

I've been threatening my nose with the neti pot - seriously, is there a wormhole to a goo dimension in my sinuses? - and today my voice is starting to go.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Teppy, I realize this is wildly inappropriate and displays a distinct lack of boundaries... but you could call Kroger and threaten to sue the crap out of them if anything happens to your 78 year old immune compromised father who is working for pin money...

Why isn't everyone pelting me with JOY, dammit? - Zenkitty

I don't think I have a thermometer. Chances are they are probably out of those too.

I had this realization last week. With my allergies, I figure I'm likely to have any of the other symptoms at any time, so I'd let a fever tell me I was sick. I hit 2 different Walgreen's and both were completely out of all thermometers except the 70 dollar one. Randomly, I found them in stock at the 99 cents (only) store. (Didn't feel the need to buy them all. Did buy 2, just in case)

He's an autonomous adult, damn it, which means he gets to make this stupid-ass decision. (My mom, who is 72 and healthier than a lot of people 20 years younger than her, and my stepdad, who is 60 and is more germophobic than Howard Hughes, are isolating themselves like they're in a bomb shelter. They're an interesting contrast to my dad, who is like, "If I die, I die." [No, last night he literally said to me, "If this is it, I've had a good life." And my reaction was "You DUMBASS, this is something YOU CAN AVOID but you're choosing not to WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU."])

Honestly, the only way I can deal with my dad's unbelievably fucking stupid choice and NOT have my anxiety go through the roof is...to kind of not think about it. My worry is all saved for my immunocompromised husband who's still recovering from heart surgery. I don't have the emotional spoons for any other worry, especially for dumbass fathers who make incredibly bad choices.

Okay, I will admit one thing that I might be...not *worried* about, but would like some clarification on. One of the conditions that puts people in a high-risk category is hypertension, which I do in fact have. BUT because I take blood pressure meds, my blood pressure is normal and has been for years. So I have the diagnosis of hypertension, but I am not actively hypertensive. So I'm not sure if that makes me high risk or not. I'm leaning pretty hard towards not, but I haven't seen any clarification about it, and it's not worth emailing my doctor about, because I have no doubt that they are swamped right now.
