See, in my fantasy, when I'm kissing you... you're kissing me. It's okay. I can wait.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

I'm trying to remind myself tonight over and over that the exhaustion I feel probably isn't COVID-19, but 10 days of stress and uncertainty.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

FWIW, somebody I know here in MA is on home quarantine because their coworker in the next cubicle over has tested positive. So I'm kind of 2 degrees of separation now.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

I have a coworker who is sitting right next to me and is in quarantine for almost two weeks now, but that's because he returned from Italy in the end of February and went straight from the airport home to quarantine.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

IT guy just came around checking that we all have the capability to work from home, so I guess that's on the table. I have to laugh, though - we got the email today from HR sent out saying they're watching the situation and stay home if you are sick and wash your hands often using warm soapy water and WE HAVE NO HOT WATER IN OUR KITCHENETTE OR BATHROOM. People are using hot water from the filtered water cooler thing to wash their dishes. It does not inspire confidence.

My coworker that was coughing Monday morning and went home partway through the day still saying "it's just a cold" is still out and had a fever yesterday. Don't know if she's getting tested but I know she's been on Travis AFB so I hope so, I feel like more people were exposed over there than was obvious since the community spread started happening.

Our wings are not tired

It might be a good time for the amusement parks to do projects while they don't have so many visitors!

I've been actually working on a low key push for this exact type of thing right now. Basically offering a discounted rate on labor for any clients that will book us for work during this downturn. Framing that if attendance is down, and you have the budget to do the project, then we can stretch that budget by offering a discounted rate on labor. We are starting focusing on local Escape Rooms.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Good luck, ND. Sounds like a good plan to me.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

My dance group holds practice in an Episcopalian church. The Diocese of this region has decided to close buildings for the most part. I guess we might not be having practice for a while...

One of the big-deal tasks I had today was taking a huge lunch-for-forty over to a local church that puts on a Lenten Wednesday Lunch for the local homeless and parishioners, made up in our residence kitchens. Alas, this was the last one they'll be doing this Lent, the rest of the month has now been cancelled by the church.

Our wings are not tired.

Italy has now closed all businesses except pharmacies, grocery stores, and banks.

I'm not a worrier by nature and that hasn't changed, but I am aware that this can get quite bad.

Good to hear, ND. Here's hoping you can ride through this with alternate contract options.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I don't understand what working parents of pre-teens are supposed to do if the schools go on-line or just close. They have to quit their jobs too? this could rapidly spiral into a depression.

Not to be overly pessimistic, but everyone who has jobs you can't do from home is about to be laid off anyway, right? Uggghhhhh.

I am hoping the two people with presumptive cases on my campus are the same two people in my city, but I basically doubt it...
