If every vampire who said he was at the crucifixion was actually there, it would have been like Woodstock.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Oh, jeez, I'm supposed to have my self-appraisal turned in by Monday. I don't know how that's going to happen...maybe I can throw something together tomorrow...

Our wings are not tired.

My entire career is dependent upon groups of people gathering.

I've been thinking about that too. It might be a good time for the amusement parks to do projects while they don't have so many visitors!

On the other hand, I've also started the retirement process. I haven't officially committed to any particular day, but it feels momentous.

It is momentous! My sister just did this a couple weeks ago and is visiting me now. She isn't sure what retirement will look like since it is still so new.

I need to talk my siblings into things like grocery delivery. Brother has COPD and MS, one sister has had part of her lung removed from cancer and has advanced kidney disease, and the other sister has a long history of respiratory illnesses and is 72. I'm not concerned about myself, but they are way more at risk.

At least Weinstein got 23 years. Not sure how the pending CA charges fit into this case.

Why do people think "what is your disability?" And "is there anything you can do about it?" is small talk?

I don't know, I'd think asking if theirs is developmental in reply would be a good attempt at making chit chat.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

Welp, we called it. Once spring break is done we're to teach our courses online until at least April 5th (so, two weeks worth).

Not sure how the pending CA charges fit into this case.

They are separate, so I assume that any jail time is in addition to his current sentence, just in San Quentin.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Those students have already been exposed to each other. You don't contain a pandemic by suddenly putting thousands of potential disease vectors onto airplanes.

That's a great point. It's all based on the hope that they aren't exposed yet, I guess.

Why do people think "what is your disability?" And "is there anything you can do about it?" is small talk?

Because they are assholes?

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I did not get the job I interviewed for last week. On one hand, benefits would be nice! On the other, just looking at their open plan office gave me hives.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

On the other, just looking at their open plan office gave me hives.

I did some research on built environments and sensory stuff a couple years ago and open plan offices, it will surprise no one, are AWFUL. All the time, to everyone. But they are also like 10x cheaper to build so fuck everyone's mental and physical wellbeing.

Man, if I'm going to be working from home for the next 4-5 weeks, I really need to figure out how to set up some better work spaces. I'm currently hunched over my laptop at my kitchen table which has not been working out great for me so far.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

shrift, I got a bed table/laptop table for Tim's surgery recovery at home (as it turns out, he really was only in bed to sleep, and didn't use it as a bed table, although he's claimed it as his dinner TV tray), and it works great as a standing desk when I set it on the dining room table. [link]
