You've got friends to have good times with. When you need to share the trauma of a badly-written book with someone, that's when you go to family.

. . . and ECCC is postponed. :-(

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I'm hearing King County is pretty much WFH (for everyone who can, anyway), so that's probably unavoidable, but a bummer for sure.

They may have waited as long as they did hoping that state health officials would recommend/order that conventions be postponed or cancelled, so they wouldn't have to pay the penalty clauses on the convention center and hotel block bookings.

Mmm, that seems likely.

I also just heard that the soccer and XFL games are still scheduled, so my sense of inevitability is shaken

Yeah, I have a dance convention that's planned here for the weekend of Mar 21--I'm sure they don't want to cancel if the hotel is going to charge them and attendees demand their money back! But dancing is not exactly a low-contact activity!

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Our assisted-living has had one event cancelled already -- going to be a bunch of high school art students coming over to draw resident portraits, which can be very nice, but evidently a couple of the kids at the high school went on a winter trip to Italy -- so while nobody has tested positive (yet) they're still exercising all caution with our vulnerable population.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Our company has given preemptive permission for folks to work from home and suddenly everyone is self-quarantining. ("Out of an overabundance of caution" roughly translates to "Out of a desire to avoid my commute for as long as I can get away with it")

Now tagless for your comfort.

I'm are Dad's. He looks terrible.

The hospital released my brother early. He showed up to pick up his stuff and the police arrived to arrest him.

JFC, I need a drink.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

I'm so sorry, Cashmere.
