I've been out of the abbey two days, I've beaten a lawman senseless, I've fallen in with criminals. I watched the captain shoot the man I swore to protect. And I'm not even sure if I think he was wrong.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

I'm so sorry, Cashmere.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I would like to offer you a drink, Cashmere.

My job just cancelled all non-essential travel through April 30, including domestic.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Cash, you deserve ALL the drinks.

You've got friends to have good times with. When you need to share the trauma of a badly-written book with someone, that's when you go to family.

Cash, I'm so sorry. There should be at least a drink.

The "taste of Downtown" thing that's scheduled for this weekend the next town over is still happening, and I'm going to go. My parents are going to join me, which I didn't really expect because they are in their 70s and therefore more vulnerable than me and were making noises about hunkering down and avoiding gatherings but not for some reason this one? And my dad's going to take the train, although maybe there won't be a lot of other passengers? Who knows. After a flashy start with the first community spread patient, Solano County has been holding steady with only 3 cases and no deaths so we're officially "low danger" so maybe that makes the difference.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

Cash, that sounds terrible.

Our Director of Operations just sent an email to the whole school asking us to update him on our ability to work from home (they tend not to provide a laptop unless you can make a business use case). Basically he was asking us if we owned computers. I have an iPad provided by the school that I can use for most things, but not everything. My laptop is basically trash.

Why isn't everyone pelting me with JOY, dammit? - Zenkitty

Oh, Cash, I hope you get that drink soon. And also an improvement in circumstances. {{{Cash & Fam}}}

The dance class I go to sometimes on Friday nights just sent out a FB message that they're considering whether to cancel classes, but not going to do it yet. And, paraphrasing, that people need to practice good hygiene, which is never a bad idea for a partner-dancing class.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

The organization I work for has two conferences scheduled for late April as well as any number of courses before and after that. We're getting a number of calls and emails as to whether they're going to take place; several people have contacted us saying their company has vetoed any travel unless essential. We sent out an email to, well, everyone saying that all our events are taking place until further notice. Demand for our virtual courses is going up.

Got an email from the building I'll be moving into about this - sounded cautious but not panicked.

I don't travel for work, but I take public transit ... and I'm on the edge of the high risk population (I'm older, overweight, diabetic, high blood pressure, etc.). I'm cautious, but there are limits.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Cash, I'm so sorry. That's really awful.

I meant $2k, not $2! Jeez.

Today I made $12 by returning six glass milk bottles to Kroger, and I feel so old-fashioned.

Katie lives and works in Snohomish County WA. She's changed her plans, due to work things and wanting to make some more money before she moves, to moving in with me in June instead of April, which is fine, except that means she's in Washington longer and she works in a hotel and I know it's irrational but I'm worried.

Hopefully the precautions being taken in WA will keep Katie (and meara and amyparker and the other WA-istas and everyone else!) safe.

I kinda want to make a "Why 2k?" joke. I am not right in the head.
