The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

Well, not as exciting as a spreadsheet, but I thought this was cute.

Our wings are not tired.

Mmmm, Excelomancy.

Msbelle, the new job sounds challenging, in a good way!

DH arrived back in Florida this morning and is zooming towards mid state for the basketball finals. He's emotionally exhausted, but good. He was struck by the contrasts in Jamaica. The stunning natural beauty vs the horrific poverty. His friend's home is right on the ocean and covered in iron grates and big locks. We'll go back together to visit after things settle some to distract his extra mom.

Our wings are not tired.

FWIW, DH was asked at the Miami airport if he had been to China or Iran, but there was no other variety of screening.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Well, not as exciting as a spreadsheet, but I thought this was cute.

Those pictures are hilarious!

The stunning natural beauty vs the horrific poverty.

I realized that in my old job that worked in a lot of rural places around the world -- places that are not developed are often gorgeous to look at, but that means that the people living there don't have running water, etc., and there are no jobs.

You've got friends to have good times with. When you need to share the trauma of a badly-written book with someone, that's when you go to family.

. . . and ECCC is postponed. :-(

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I'm hearing King County is pretty much WFH (for everyone who can, anyway), so that's probably unavoidable, but a bummer for sure.

They may have waited as long as they did hoping that state health officials would recommend/order that conventions be postponed or cancelled, so they wouldn't have to pay the penalty clauses on the convention center and hotel block bookings.

Mmm, that seems likely.

I also just heard that the soccer and XFL games are still scheduled, so my sense of inevitability is shaken

Yeah, I have a dance convention that's planned here for the weekend of Mar 21--I'm sure they don't want to cancel if the hotel is going to charge them and attendees demand their money back! But dancing is not exactly a low-contact activity!
