Damn it! You know what? I'm sick of this crap. I'm sick of being the guy who eats insects and gets the funny syphilis. As of this moment, it's over. I'm finished being everybody's butt monkey!

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

No panic in MA, unless you count the Market Basket in Chelsea being super-busy. (Seriously, they have 37 registers and I only saw maybe two that were not open with a line out to here.)

I talked to a coworker who shops there and she says it's always like that, though.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

My dad still works part-time at a Kroger because he's too bored to just be totally retired, and he said shopping is normal and the only thing they're sold out of is masks. (But he did also tell me, "You should probably buy extra beans, just in case." Specifically, beans. WHY DAD)

Woe to the fucking wicked.

We had a lot of people buying TP at Costco here on Sunday. To be fair, we have a lot more exposure to Asia than many places. I also don't know if or how much it varies from normal Costco TP purchasing.

Why isn't everyone pelting me with JOY, dammit? - Zenkitty

The only thing I noticed at Vons last night was the pump hand soaps were out of the ones specifically labeled anti-bacterial. I bought lavender & chamomile instead.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Our Costco was totally out on Friday when we were stockpiling for my parents.

Welp, my parent company just canceled all non-essential travel and now a whole bunch of people who had tacked ECCC plans onto their business trips don't have flights out to Seattle.

On the plus side for them, you couldn't pay me enough to go to ECCC this year. I don't trust their "Oh, it'll be fine! We'll CLEAN ALL THE THINGS!" precautions for shit. Seriously, you don't want to be in Seattle right now if you're worried about this.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

NC just reported its first Covid-19 case in a nearby county. One of my coworkers was like, "About time. I was starting to wonder if we were really a travel hub." (Which, eh, kinda?) so not exactly hysteria.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Yeah, I was worried about the effect on your business, NoiseDesign. I hope you get through it okay.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

I am glad to hear Kate and Liese are safe!

No panic here that I can see, but should I panic? I am not sure what to do with the panic.

Great---aaaaaand I've just been told once again that I don't have insurance (by my doctor's office and the health insurance people). WTF. They said they fixed this!!! Jesus. So annoyed--not just at this rigamarole, but the fact that I KNOW I'm going to get a bunch of bills, down the road, that claim I owe a bazillion dollars for every visit.
