May I make a couple of suggestions?
This article from a pair of virologists in Australia was of use, as I find data soothing. Also the remark about why they're purchasing shelf-stable milk reminded me of a comment from one of the women in my emergency preparedness group: "If I have to parent through a global pandemic, this house had better have potato chips."
If there is preventative health care you have been putting off and your budget/insurance will allow you to access it now? Please do so - in the event of widescale community transmission, local health care systems are going to be under incredible strain, and if neighborhoods are under lockdown you might not be able to visit them even if they aren't primary care providers. (I don't want to go to the dentist, either.)
If you are diabetic/have a chronic heart or lung condition, can safely take the pneumococcal vaccine, have never had a dose and your insurance will cover it? Consider getting it: it won't do anything against viral pneumonia, but it will help prevent the bacterial sort that's often the second line of attack with influenza.
Tep, I assume you have entered this as evidence in the GIF/JIF debate?
Personally: as Plei will attest, my BIL is a hot mess - but given the news this morning that the prime minister of Japan has requested that all schools close until April (and that's with 200 cases nationwide), S. would be a lot worse if his family hadn't joined him in Minnesota last December.
I'm in such a constant state of overload right now I can't even process Covid-19 as another possible Thing I might have to deal with/worry about. Like, between work and school and all the kids other activities (including the one I'm nominally the adult in charge of that is driving me to drink), and the Democratic primaries and the constant background hum of governmental fuckery...I'm sorry, but we don't have time for a global pandemic right now, can Covid come back maybe sometime in 2024?
Also we are upgrading our furnace/AC today and my house is very very cold while I wait for the new unit. Send tea and blankets.

Ha! That's actually what kicked off the debate.

I don't have any slots left in my Worry Spice Rack for coronavirus. For real. Though I will be diligent about washing my hands, and reminding my husband who just had heart surgery to be diligent about washing his hands.
gate & Garage door person supposed to be here btw 10 & 12. It is 5 to 12, no guy, no call. I have to leave at 12:30. I am calling at 12 noon on the dot if he is not here and rescheduling.

Yeah, I just can't worry about it. Like I don't worry about the flu! I wash my hands and avoid people, but that's all the time.
Also do not lick doorknobs. I know, I know, we all want to do it, all the time, but now is when we need to BE STRONG.
I wash my hands and avoid people, but that's all the time.
HA! And yes, except I take public transportation almost every day. And I have kids who are in school. So I don't get to avoid as many people as I'd like to.
