Oh, I get it. You just don't like who did the rescuing, that's all. Wishin' I was your boyfriend what's-his-height. Oh wait, he's run off.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Tep, I assume you have entered this as evidence in the GIF/JIF debate?

You've got friends to have good times with. When you need to share the trauma of a badly-written book with someone, that's when you go to family.

Personally: as Plei will attest, my BIL is a hot mess - but given the news this morning that the prime minister of Japan has requested that all schools close until April (and that's with 200 cases nationwide), S. would be a lot worse if his family hadn't joined him in Minnesota last December.

I'm in such a constant state of overload right now I can't even process Covid-19 as another possible Thing I might have to deal with/worry about. Like, between work and school and all the kids other activities (including the one I'm nominally the adult in charge of that is driving me to drink), and the Democratic primaries and the constant background hum of governmental fuckery...I'm sorry, but we don't have time for a global pandemic right now, can Covid come back maybe sometime in 2024?

Also we are upgrading our furnace/AC today and my house is very very cold while I wait for the new unit. Send tea and blankets.

Ha! That's actually what kicked off the debate.

I'm in such a constant state of overload right now I can't even process Covid-19 as another possible Thing I might have to deal with/worry about.

I don't have any slots left in my Worry Spice Rack for coronavirus. For real. Though I will be diligent about washing my hands, and reminding my husband who just had heart surgery to be diligent about washing his hands.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Yeah, I just can't worry about it. Like I don't worry about the flu! I wash my hands and avoid people, but that's all the time.

Also do not lick doorknobs. I know, I know, we all want to do it, all the time, but now is when we need to BE STRONG.

HA! And yes, except I take public transportation almost every day. And I have kids who are in school. So I don't get to avoid as many people as I'd like to.

Yeah, I figure sure I get a flu shot but I don't generally worry about the flu.l, even though it can be awful (as poor Javachik found out!!) I can't worry too much about this either—though I'm at this point a little worried it will affect my getting surgery next month but I sure hope not!

I briefly thought "ooh yes, shelf stable milk!" And then realized I almost never drink milk, so that would be silly. But I do plan to toss a few extra boxes of pasta in my cart soon?

Also after reading that peanut butter article I think I am more confused about what a "soft" bs "hard" G is pronounced! I will keep pronouncing Jif and gif differently.

What is even happening?

I'm mostly worried about youngest son, who is on three different medications which suppress his immune system. It is taking every ounce of will not to drag him home from college, or at least nag him until he starts commuting rather than living there.

There's also my husband, who just started a new job at a Boston hospital (although not in patient care) and takes public transit there.

Older son and daughter both drive to work. I work at home. After my youngest son, my mom is probably most at risk because of her age, but she lives alone, and has always been quite careful about hygiene.

If covid19 s is ultimately gonna take me out (as opposed to them), I ask that it does so before the election, so I can stop thinking about politics.

I mostly don't have the spoons for this.
