Someone at work got on me about the rudeness of "no problem". I was flabbergasted. I feel like your're welcome is rude when someone is thanking you for doing your actual job, Not rude enough to say anything about it, just, I am uncomfortable saying it.

I agreed to read one chapter of the Book of Esther for Purim this year, at services. Which means that I need to learn it. (I can read it, but Hebrew texts like this have a system of symbols written around the words that indicate the melody, and I used to know how they worked, but it's been a long time since I've learned anything new with them. Plus, the system for Esther is a little bit different than the other systems.
I have audio files, and tutorials, and a print-out where I can use all my highlighters to color-code everything.

(How would you even gently let someone know that "thot" has a slang meaning that they PROBABLY don't want to bring up when talking about their thoughts?)
I'm not an Illinois resident anymore, but I can't imagine clemency for Blagojevich is going to be a... popular decision.

Pardoning Blagojevich is super weird. DeBartolo is almost as strange, but I can kinda see a reason for it. I guess he's just decided that any enemy of financial legality is his friend?
It seems to be a real competition over which country has the worst dumpster fire for government. It is very depressing.
And sadly, very few people get that there are no winners in this.

If he spent his remaining days golfing and issuing pardons that would be safest. Alas, Mitch is going to use the next few months to cram through as many right wing judges as possible.
In order to feel like a functional adult today I wrote the list of things to do in my phone and I'm checking them one by one. It's after 15:00 and I checked out 6 items, but grants, two were "getting up" and "call dad".
