I just tell myself accepting pardons means they won't be able to plead the Fifth down the line if they should be subpoenaed to testify regarding someone else's criminal actions...

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Is that true?

Calli made me laugh with the vampires. So that's why they want you to say "you're welcome" so insistently!

"You can't put a price on the joy of not giving a shit." -Zenkitty

Note for history: Trump has been pardoning corrupt government officials and businessmen this week.

I'm not an Illinois resident anymore, but I can't imagine clemency for Blagojevich is going to be a... popular decision.

I'm not sure. The argument I've heard is that accepting a pardon is admission of guilt, it's just the punishment/consequences that get handwaved away. If you've already admitted guilt, you can't invoke protection against incriminating yourself regarding those charges if called as a witness in someone else's trial.

Lawyers?

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

Not a lawyer, but I don't think that's true. There are plenty of cases where someone innocent has been wrongfully convicted and imprisoned and has then been pardoned, essentially because they aren't guilty. Blagojevich got clemency, which means his sentence is terminated, but he was not pardoned.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

We are up to our ears in boxes and yet have SO MUCH TO PACK and I hate it. But shiny new house in a few days, so I will be strong!!!!!!

(And then moving and painting hassles before we're really in there, but the end is in sight.)

Also even if that was true it would only apply to things that would incriminate them that they had already been convicted of, not anything new they do or did, or anything they hadn't already been caught for or charged with?

What is even happening?

My belly dance teacher insists on spelling "thoughts" as "thots" in FB posts. Do not want

NOPE.

On Twitter, when running up against the character limit? I guess. I don't like it, but I have used "thru" on Twitter, so I can't get on anyone for it.

In texts? That's between you and your recipient.

On FB? There's no character limit, or if there is, I never ran up against it when I was on there, which *boggle*, so no. Sorry -t's teacher. Don't let it happen again.

Your thots on no problem? (Okay, that really hurt to type)

I would think so, Laura.

Whenever I start feeling okay, there's always something to bring me back down.

Don't give that something a second thot, Gud.

(It does hurt, Laura. You're right.)

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

Someone at work got on me about the rudeness of "no problem". I was flabbergasted. I feel like your're welcome is rude when someone is thanking you for doing your actual job, Not rude enough to say anything about it, just, I am uncomfortable saying it.

THOTS!?!! I think I can deal with our PWP project if I don't have to deal with thots.
