Answer is in—bone scan showed plenty of inflammation, in the spot that was hurting as well as one other. We discussed—there's no obvious stress fracture or anything but removing the plate is pretty easy. Since the one isn't hurting we will probably leave it alone, but have outpatient surgery and get the other plate taken out and hope that helps. Yay! I feel glad I pushed for bone scan even though the X-ray looked fine! (Not that the doctor seemed like he doubted me—I like this guy much better—but I was worried I was being a hypochondriac)

Aside from the obscene wealth inequity of being a billionaire, I think having money at that level causes more problems than it's worth on an individual level.
In a document for the congregational meeting the other week, my minister wrote something like, "As the theologians are always saying, 'Mo' money, mo' problems.'" And then he footnoted it in Chicago style to the Biggie Smalls album! Hilarious.

Yay! Someone at work was in a terrible car accident in December (she's still not back in the office), and I think her ankle is the main thing that got busted, so I feel terrible for her, knowing how bad ankles can be!

Your minister is AWESOME.
I just trimmed up JZ's bob, handed her a container of beef stew that I made to give to her friend, and posted a new article on the front page of the A's blog.
I'm feeling productive, and flexing a goodly range of skill sets.
Enviable, Hec. Plus making people happy!
Your minister is AWESOME.
He is funny, and also very young.
OK, the footnote part makes it amazing!
I just ordered a new pair of cheapo glasses because I sat on and broke the ones I had (I just use them for driving at night). And it said "standard shipping is now going to be 21-28 days due to mandatory business closures in China". Wow! First coronavirus-related issue that has actually affected me in any way! Here's hoping it's also the last.

The food was for her friend, Maggie, who is the mother of her friend, Geri, who died suddenly last year.
She got a slight raise in her Social Security check, so they lowered her food stamps!
I made a bolognese lasagne a few weeks ago because Matilda was begging for it and split it between two small pans (since JZ and I aren't eating noodles right now). Maggie gobbled that up and sent an appreciative note and I kind of realized she might be going a little hungry for hearty food. It felt good to do a big stew, which is not really common in the household since Emmett moved out.
I made the stew with ground pork and stew meat, and used brandy, apple cider and French onion stock.
Yeah, our factories in China don't know when they'll open again and pretty soon it'll be Songkram and all the factories in Thailand will close. Lotta uncertainty in the supply chain.
That is a winner of a footnote!
I finally left work but I missed my window for going straight from work to a movie. I'm also immensely tired, so my birthday treat will be early bedtime. It's kinda the perfect 51st birthday gift!
That stew sounds delicious, Hec.
