Damn it! You know what? I'm sick of this crap. I'm sick of being the guy who eats insects and gets the funny syphilis. As of this moment, it's over. I'm finished being everybody's butt monkey!

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

Go msbelle! Yay meara!

Matt, thank you for taking care of that cat.

Edited: oh, Epic, I'd love to see that dress!

In case you might remember, that fun paper I decided to write about zombies is now the most depressing paper I had to write, a thought experiment in anthropology to plan a research on how people imagine the end of mankind. Maybe I should add a picture of a baby elephant or a recommendation to watch Good Omens in the conclusion.

Why isn't everyone pelting me with JOY, dammit? - Zenkitty

Edited: oh, Epic, I'd love to see that dress!

I'll take a new pic tonight (the last one I took was a while ago, and this thing is seriously an ongoing project), and post it on FB.

I'm intrigued.

Maybe I should add a picture of a baby elephant or a recommendation to watch Good Omens in the conclusion.

Both very good things.

What is even happening?

You're a good (and brave) man, Matt.

We're having a freaky hail storm.

Our wings are not tired.

I'd be mighty displeased if I were treated so, Matt, but you are a hero nonetheless.

DH stopped in to visit elderly aunt and uncle he has avoided for a year. It may be the last time. We shelter ourselves from the Trump crowd for the most part. I'm thinking of shielding myself further. They are quite scary and depressing.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Last night I went to this thing called "crowdsource choir"—about 30-40 folks showed up and a guy taught us 3 and 4 part harmony for "I wanna know what love is" and then we sang it. And it was so much fun!! I'm not sure I want to join a regular choir and show up all the time and feel like I have to sing super well, but it was so fun to be singing in harmony and hearing other people in a better way than karaoke?

That is awesome! And kind of like the gospel thing I did last weekend -- they had a workshop one night were we learned two things, and then just sang them from the audience at the concert the next night. No commitment!

Also, moan, cry, complain in big baby fashion.

Sometimes that's just what you need, Laura.

interview went well. I forgot to ask what the timeline was for hiring. fingers crossed.

Fingers crossed!

But, he's been treated with antibiotics, de-wormed, and neutered, with a clean bill of health other than the injury.

You are a good person, Matt.

Matt, you did a good thing and a brave thing.

So, I put on a radio station that plays a lot of 80s music in the car when I take ltc to school, and as a result "Hit Me With Your Best Shot" is one of her favorite songs. I'm going to need to take a video of her singing it because it's adorable.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

That was good of you, Matt. I hope he doesn't hold it against you for too long.

Aw, that sounds supercute, sj!

I have been mildly panicking for a couple of days thinking I would have to get to a race tomorrow morning and then wine tasting around noon and then a lecture in the evening and a symphony on Sunday and when will I do my laundry and cook meals and so forth?!? But the race is not until NEXT Saturday and now everything feels much more manageable. Of course, I am still at work over an hour after I was supposed to go home and have not started my presentation for next Wednesday, but those are not weekend concerns.

I'm already dead from how cute that is!

Phew!

Gospel weekend sounds fun too Jesse!!

I'm mostly torn between being bummed I have no plans this weekend (maybe oscars party on Sunday but I'm not super into the folks who will be going to that) but also excited that I have no need to set an alarm for tomorrow morning!!
