"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

We aren't watching this year. We're watching Doctor Who and the BAFTAS instead.

"You can't put a price on the joy of not giving a shit." -Zenkitty

I got back from DC on Friday night, and I've mostly been noodling around playing video games this weekend. I have been to the grocery store and the farmer's market, and I've got laundry in the dryer.

I was super busy while I was in DC. Everything went well except for one meeting which wasn't entirely my fault, but guess who has two thumbs and is agonizing about it anyway? This gal! Ugh.

but that sort of conflicts with wanting to do personal projects (gotta keep my tech skills sharp) and not really giving a shit about staying alive.

We really give a shit about you staying alive. Just putting that out there.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

ltc made oatmeal for the week in the instant pot with TCG. She even used her new child safe knife set to peel and cut the apples! Then she helped me make risotto for dinner. She painted a couple of pictures and probably watched too much tv.

That sounds like a good day.

Also ran into my across the street neighbor that I met last summer in the grocery store. She recognized me. Now I have more names on my neighborhood house map I have drawn myself.

Adorbs!

Thrive to spite them

My mom is sick again. Or still sick. She had the flu. Thought she had pneumonia but maybe didn't and now has a virus and/ upper respiratory infection.

At this point she's been sick for almost a month

Oof, that sounds terrible.

Yeah I'm worried because she sort of has a general practitioner but mostly she goes to the minute clinic. Her new GP (kinda hers) she's only seen once I think. Her regular doctor left because of the for profit hospital group that took over the hospital and related practices.

If she doesn't get better I'm going to badger her to see my Dr up there . I've been trying to get her to switch to them anyway.

Yikes askye. I hope she feels better soon.

I had a bunch of people over for the super bowl, it was good times. We were rooting "gold pants" vs "red shirts". Though given our demographic we were pretty pro the 49ers because they had the lesbian coach (who one of my friends at the party used to play football with!)

Yes, we do. It breaks my heart when you are so down on yourself.

I put in a really subpar project for my class this week. I am almost thinking maybe I can go and add to it even though it technically was due at midnight. But I forgot my references!!! Ah well. It was a discussion board, so maybe I can reply to myself with the references and an "oops!"

Oh- and much health ~am to your mom. I have been sick for awhile, too. I have been mostly avoiding the doctor because I don't want to talk to him about my other long term health issues- could that maybe be something for your mother? I don't know how to help if it is- since I am doing the same thing.
