Timelies all!
On the upside, Mr. S didn't start making noise until almost 8 this morning.(This after not settling down to sleep until 9 last night) The rest of the day has not gone so well, with him running away from us in the parking lot of the shopping center where we had lunch(and were going to get groceries) and nearly got hit by a car. I ended up going back for groceries later.
I suspect your wife's frustration over the business is slopping over into general frustration that isn't appropriate.
This is my suspicion, too.
It feels like laying out the expectations would be helpful, so your wife doesn't just feel like you aren't doing "enough." Like, an actual list of what needs doing around the house and who's going to do it, with reasonable limits and sense of how long things take, alongside the other stuff you all need/want to do over a weekend.
This! Is a really good idea!
What Theo said.
Sheryl, sounds like our kids are on the same Sunday schedule.
We had a birthday party for one of ltc's school friends yesterday, and today has been a bit of a lazy day. ltc made oatmeal for the week in the instant pot with TCG. She even used her new child safe knife set to peel and cut the apples! Then she helped me make risotto for dinner. She painted a couple of pictures and probably watched too much tv.
I actually did the expectations thing on a white board with my student workers Friday and it was great! We made a list of everything we needed to get done, which was a lot. I noted I needed two uninterrupted hours to work on an important time sensitive project. I spent the whole day not just wondering when they would be finished! We all had fun crossing stuff off the board!
got to see Lisa and Bob today. Met new people through them and volunteered with the Ride for the Feast they do each year.
I got curtains up on the rod in my bedroom and some opaque cling film up on windows (front door).
Also ran into my across the street neighbor that I met last summer in the grocery store. She recognized me. Now I have more names on my neighborhood house map I have drawn myself.
Nothing makes me happier than hearing about buffistas spending time together.
Watching my annual football game. Halftime was better than some previous ones.
We aren't watching this year. We're watching Doctor Who and the BAFTAS instead.
I got back from DC on Friday night, and I've mostly been noodling around playing video games this weekend. I have been to the grocery store and the farmer's market, and I've got laundry in the dryer.
I was super busy while I was in DC. Everything went well except for one meeting which wasn't entirely my fault, but guess who has two thumbs and is agonizing about it anyway? This gal! Ugh.
but that sort of conflicts with wanting to do personal projects (gotta keep my tech skills sharp) and not really giving a shit about staying alive.
We really give a shit about you staying alive. Just putting that out there.

That sounds like a good day.
