I like books. I just don't want to take on too much. Do they have an introduction to the modern blurb?

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Dana, I do that at least once a day. I knew the second I shut the trunk I knew what I did.

The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

I got an email today from the company that manages my Health Savings Account, asking me about some suspect charges: three purchases from "ADIDAS US ONLINE STORE 800-9829337 OR" two days ago, totalling $596. Fraud!

I called the support number to start the dispute process. It turns out there were other recent charges, most from the same online store. The total was almost $1900! That's a lot of shoes.

I'm glad the fraud detection system worked. The HSA debit card as been cancelled, and a replacement should be on its way to me soon. Telling myself "Well, it could have been worse," doesn't seem to be helping very much. Now I'm worried that CVS has been hacked.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

That's a change. Usually my HSA chases after me for completely valid charges.

I was going to say a nice change, but that's not nice at all.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

I am comforting myself with apple pie, ice cream, and Star Trek.

Health~ma Laura and Javachick.

Our wings are not tired.

Thanks for the ~ma but I am going to divert it to Javachik because I'm fine, just a big baby since I so rarely need meds.

That sounds like an excellent recipe for comfort, sj. There was chocolate flakes in my yogurt! It was still pretty boring.

I need to switch off news and go to fictional entertainment.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

Plans today were going to the museum as a recovery from a Terrible Stressing Week (end of semester, huge exam, not getting the support I needed from people around me to go through it). Woke up too late to get to the museum in time after cleaning the house + studying a bit, so I'll go for a walk instead and let being in nature do its thing.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Nature is good. What's the weather like these days in your neck of the woodsworld? 36F here, which is rather cold for a nature hike.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

Mostly between 46-58F. Currently 50F, slightly windy, sometimes rainy.

Eh -- depends on your mood, I suppose, and how well clad you are.

I have a friend who was in the Air Force, stationed in Greenland for a while. Her survival instructor told them there is no such thing as bad weather, just weather you are inappropriately clad for.
