What are people doing this weekend?
Movie night with friends tonight (my friend's almost 10-yr-old has expressed an interest in Labyrinth, so we're starting her grounding in 80s fantasy classics). Haircut tomorrow, and dinner or a movie after if I can find a single one of my friends free. Sunday getting my nails did and getting a new battery in my truck...possibly not in that order - unless I can find somebody to go to Universal with before my annual pass expires on Tuesday. And some more unpacking and organizing and cleaning, if I can work it in.
I basically staid in bed snuggled into a comforter with a cat perched on me and either watched TV or read.
Perfect day!
Yay, just found a friend who's free!
That's awesome Sophia!
My afternoon went awful—I had tried to pick up a prescription yesterday but they said it didn't go through, and I didn't have my insurance card with me at the time (but knew I'd gotten a new one) so figured that was the issue. Annoying they couldn't tell me that, rather than "your prescription is ready!" But whatever. Go back today after my doctor appointment, give them the new card...nope, it says that my coverage expired at the end of December. Say what?? So I call them, they transfer me to folks at my company...who are on the east coast and have already left for the day and it's MLk weekend so they won't be in until Tuesday.
What I suspect happened: I got a new card in early December. I assumed it was for going back on the company insurance and for 2020. I think it was actually that they auto-sent me a card for COBRA, if I was continuing. And then never sent me a card for the regular insurance (maybe a different member ID???). I tried logging in to the insurance website though and it says it's expired. The benefits page says I'm enrolled. So does my paycheck for December. I'm worried now the COBRA folks are going to come back and say "we paid for your prescriptions in December but you didn't pay for December you owe $600!" Also now the doctor visit I saw today, and the authorization they're trying to get, are all wrong and I'll have to get that fixed. Since it's the same damn company and the same insurance I didn't think this would be so messy!!
(I run out of my meds after Monday, and they're $500 out of pocket, so that's a pretty tough balance!)
Oh no, meara, what a mess! Good luck.
Fie upon the insurance hassles! Obstructionist bullshit designed to wear you down.
my old boss did a special presentation to thank me for all my work with her.
Awwww! That makes me so happy!
Oh no, meara! I hope it turns out to be not so much of a mess to fix and you can get through the next few days ok
Today food used up:
1 frozen meal, bottle of lambic, carton of milk (I have more coconut milk that I will use until I leave), can of dog food, and I am about to make banana bread - so I hope that uses up something else.
oh no meara - that sucks. I am so sorry. fucking insurance bullshit.
Oh, meara, that is utter BS.
Things you do not want to hear on a Friday night:
"Hey, hon, you know where the medical POA is you signed for me, right?"
(She's home, happy fun times in the ER leading to "It's probably a pinched nerve, please actually take the muscle relaxants"; her roommate is keeping an ear out as she showers and I am going to go quietly have a meltdown.)
