Mal: Yeah, well, just be careful. We cheated Badger out of good money to buy that frippery, and you're supposed to make me look respectable. Kaylee: Yes, sir, Captain Tightpants.

Because books.

I'm not watching tomorrow night. Last time was too much.

Any idea why I have a little red "Not secure" message in the address bar for this site now?

The Chrome browser recently changed its definition of "not secure" to include any web site that does not have encryption turned on.

Hopefully, that's one of the things that will be fixed with Gudanov's new version of the site.

Ann, that's a ferret.

I have plans that will keep me away from the TV until about 9:30. I plan to be in bed with the lights out by 10:30, 11:00 at the latest. That should be enough time to get the trends without obsessing all night long. And get enough sleep to be awake at work on Wednesday.

Coding and Sleeping

Yeah, new site will have encryption.

"You can't put a price on the joy of not giving a shit." -Zenkitty

I am on a plane to DC. Womp womp.

I did not have my shit together yesterday and I realized I forgot to pack a couple of things after I boarded my flight, so I just ordered an Amazon Prime Now delivery at my hotel tonight.

I've told some of my coworkers that I'll probably be hiding in my hotel room rather than attending any watch parties.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I have a work dinner that'll keep me out until 6:30 or so. That'll give me time to get home (if home has water—there's a big water main break in my town that's been unresolved for about five hours now), get a drink, and start watching returns.

Our wings are not tired.

Oh I have no delusions about where I will be. Every election in memory I have planted myself in front of the tv and computer compulsively watching. I didn't think I could possibly have been more devastated than I was after the Bush elections, and then there was 2016. I still have not recovered, but I won't be able to sleep or focus on anything else. So I will watch. Toes and fingers have blue nails, and I have my menu together.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

I hope to spend the evening watching DVDs and hoping for the best. Time enough to face reality on Wednesday.

However, here's a little ray of sunshine.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

There are returns watching parties in town I was thinking about going to, but my brother and his girlfriend are visiting so we will probably be out bonding and catching up.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

We'll probably watch something off the DVR and check out the returns between episodes.
