Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Going forward, I guess I'm only going to have popcorn for dinner, because I just picked up a table top cart-style popcorn maker off a Facebook free group!

Can you wrap her in a towel? (Note, I have never successfully done this, but it always seems to be the advice for cats!)

I think the issue is I need one hand for the syringe, and one hand to pry her mouth open. So even holding the towel is not really working! I am JSU being OK with getting whatever I get in her mouth, even though it isn't .4 ml.

One of my tricks for getting meds in a cat by myself is to put them in a corner somewhere...either in the room or in a an armchair/sofa where they can't really back up any further, and then try to get their meds in.

I've been giving Oz 1/2 pill twice a day for a couple of years now, so I don't really need the corner anymore. I just sit his butt down and pop it in. I also do it just before I put his plate of food down.

Oh yeah. My Hazel refused to take anything by mouth, so I ended up having to give her a topical medicine on her ear.

I mean, it's generally much much easier to do on kittens and even then I think most of you may recall the furious food splattered towel wrapped kitten photo from a couple years ago, when the kitten really didn't appreciate being syringe fed!

crushed pills in wet food is my go to if they will not give me an injectable.

Made banana muffins this afternoon using up one bag of bananas from freezer, a jar of applesauce, a package of coconut sugar, and a container of coconut flour.

Also sold 2 bookcases, and a tub of Legos (they weren't mine, but had been left here since last garage sale).

Took a couple of things over to mom & dad's for their estate sale. Gave mac a small bin and a large bag of stuff he had left.

AND found about 5 items of clothing that don't fit and will get donated.

Packed about 6 boxes yesterday and four today.

Met with Realtor. She thinks I can get what I want for the place selling it as is. She is going to look at comps though as see if doing $10-15K of work would increase selling price by $35-40K in which case, I might schedule the work.

Thanks for all the cat ideas! My best luck has been waiting until she is asleep and surprising her, but now that I am back from break I actually can't wait for that to happen! I have to get to work!

Work is crazy. All the professors wait to work on their courses for spring until break, which I understand, but what it means is even though they are supposed to consult us as they plan, they try to do everything themselves and come to us at the eleventh hour! All of them. All at once. And they have created giant messes in Blackboard. And since all of us Instructional Designers also teach we have our own classes too! This is a terrible model. I think we need to stop telling professors they are on a nine month appointment full time, but having them teach for twelve months part time. They need the break to work on their classes in a thoughtful fashion!

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

What has worked for me is to kneel so that my legs are on either side of the cat so that I can clamp them with my thighs, and the range of paw/claw movement is restricted.

But mostly I've paid extra to have non-pill medications, such as special food or a paste that can be rubbed on a paw.

Even when we had two people to administer a pill to the late great Toshiro, it turned out that he could spit a pill halfway across the room.

A combination of corner and thighs worked! This is a liquid medicine given in a syringe
