Sophia! I got your card back although I am pretty sure the address is good. It was marked 'no mail receptacle'.
Good news, sj, but still an ouchy place to deal with.

Weird, Laura? I am getting other mail and there are not one but two mail receptacles! I can email you my work address, though!
Petunia is home. She hates the cone! She also has thumbs,
Oh, poor Petunia and the tiny cone of shame. Yes, send me that address. I have no clue why they had the issue. It was the 28th that they stickered it as undeliverable.
Yay, sj's mom!
Tonight I'm having a couple of people over for board games. We'll drink cranberry Prosecco and watch some ball or other drop at midnight. Then we'll all go home and sleep. I've stopped minding getting older and started appreciating that I don't have to pretend to like going out in the cold dark unless there's minimal light pollution and interesting astronomical phenomena at hand.
Laura- I am not ignoring you. For some reason on the iPad, I click on your profile addy and it is just blank. So I might need to wait until I am on a computer.
Yay mom of sj.
Petunia has decided the cone is great for rolling up area rugs.
I did, in fact, leave work early and I thought that would be a good opportunity to get some groceries but I forgot that I hadn't eaten lunch and I may have gone a little overboard. Oops. At least I won't start the new year with no food!
I ended up with no plans at all tonight, which is just fine by me! I did go out earlier to play trombone in support of some anti-war demonstration in the middle of all the NYE festivities. I would have rather listened to the amazing band playing nearby, though!

Our plans are low key, and I considered it a triumph that I got Matilda off the couch, and dressed and outside even once.
But I made a fancy Mac & Cheese to give away, and JZ made the delicious lemon cookies, and we have a bottle of champagne, and we'll do a brie en croute tonight and watch something.
We've been watching What We Do In The Shadows and it's fun to hear Matilda cackle with glee.
Might try to watch a marathon of His Dark Materials.
This sinus infection doesn't want to go away, so I'm staying in tonight, probably in bed by 10. I think Indian food is in our future. But I'm loving pictures on FB of various friends dressed up for Roaring 20s parties.
Aw, Roaring 20s party is a cute idea!
I'm thinking I might binge watch something, just have to decide what.
