Belated Merry Fuckin' Christmas! to Atropa—that does not sound like a fun way to spend the holidays at all. May your recovery be swift.
I have a minor cold/sore throat that wasn't enough to keep me from working today, but was just enough to keep me from fully enjoying the day off yesterday (and likely tomorrow). I suppose it was efficient to skip the moviegoing step of my usual see-a-movie-Christmas-Day-and-catch-a-cold-there tradition.
Theo - I am glad you got another estimate. I wonder if even another one could get it done sooner. Hot water in winter just really seems like a must, although, I would see going to the Y for a shower every other day and boiling water for washing dishes and baths for a week.
Just had the first of the three moving estimates in. Estimates 5100 pounds. Might be almost a week in B'more before they get there, but could be on my first available day, so not bad.
Next one comes in 2 hours and the third is tomorrow afternoon. Next up is a realtor. I am calling someone today. Then people for repairs - I have 2 to call and am waiting on info for a third. Also possibly sprinkler repair people and tree service.

A friend took me out for birthday lunch -- I had a fancy-ass Impossible Burger, which was pretty good. Now we're waiting to see Knives Out.
Happy birthday to all the birthday havers! My office is quiet and cold and someone brought in a pecan pie. I am resisting, since I already had pie for breakfast

It seems I am not quite done with eating dangerous food this year. There's leftover cookies and fudge, what am I, a monk? I wasn't all bad, I only had one alcoholic beverage, a cup of mulled wine. Delicious, but alcohol now makes me get overheated and turn bright red in the face and I scared my sister, so I didn't drink anymore. I miss alcohol.

I have this and next week off, so I'm enjoying myself by trying to organize, clean and get rid of stuff we don't need. I did my closet and have a huge bag going to Goodwill. Our downstairs bathroom has a big shelved closet which we are going to completely reorganize, as it's now a crazy mish mosh and whenever we need to find something like a lightbulb or a measuring tape, it's impossible.

My dudes, I am on excellent drugs. In addition to otc anti-inflammatories and pain meds, there are muscle relaxers and opiates. This is the closest im going to ever get to laudanum.
