Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Pre-surgery imaging ~ma for Tim!

Well,my org is definitely fast-paced and we're neither disorganized nor inefficient.

Can I come work with you??

msbelle, I would indeed be interested in coordinating on that. I need something to keep me accountable; I'm turning into a sloth. A hermit sloth.

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

Procedure~ma to Tim.

Zen and msbelle, no set schedule for sleep or doing things was a big problem for me these past few months, and now I'm paying for it. Part of me knows I desperately needed the break, but another part of me knows that I will be a total sloth and hermit if I don't have external factors making me do things. TL;DR? I fully support your desire to have a schedule and if there's anything I can do to help, let me know.

Sophia, the (re)fills are always cheaper than a full set. I've been getting mine done since 1992 (!) and even when I didn't have a lot of money, I still got them done because it made me feel good to have pretty hands.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Best thoughts for Tim and Steph!!

Pretty sure I have done all of the things including a mandatory security training and dealt with all my outstanding emails. I am SO READY to be on vacation.

Part of me knows I desperately needed the break, but another part of me knows that I will be a total sloth and hermit if I don't have external factors making me do things.

I feel like the advice I've heard recently for college students about to be on break for six weeks is useful here: You definitely need a couple of weeks to relax! But then it's time to have a plan.

For the Marvel-loving folks that have Disney +: Today's episode of Marvel's Hero Project features a friend of ours and her family. You may actually catch a glimpse of MedicGuy and I at her birthday party.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I just asked a team member if he had done his time sheets for the next two weeks, when he'll be on vacation. He was like, "Oh, I can do it from my laptop at home....?" But then *I* have to do it from *my* laptop at home! He did it now. Phew.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

One of our grad student interns is visiting relatives in the far (temperate) south of Brazil over the long break, which means Instant Summer! for her.

My nephew -- now definitely ahead on points for Favorite Nephew -- was able to obtain my birth certificate. So Project Renew Drivers License In Time For Me To Keep My Job continues apace.

Oh, and because it deserves a separate post -- anxious to hear that Steph's Tim has had a favorable report. Crossing digits hard here.

Good news, Theo!

I am just killing time in the office, because I have plans later and none of the errands I have to do make sense to do now! I literally sent my team home, because nothing is happening in the office.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

We spent a couple of hours this morning reprocessing and upgrading shipping on 500+ orders that FedEx seems to have misplaced. So that was fun. December, man.
