Smiling for an hour is TOO MUCH for me right now in my life. That said - I think it went well - she has 5 potential positions to put me up for or inquire about. She thinks I should be able to get my desired salary and she didn't say anything about re-doing my resume.

That's awesome!
Timelies all!
Sounds good, msbelle!
Nephew has received my notarized Delegation of Authority (and sharp-eyed wunderkind that he is, noted that I'd misspelled my own name, which he showed me how he carefully corrected it.)
Tomorrow he's go to the DOH Office of Vital Statistics and Registry in Trenton, which is a great name for a government function I think.
I know it is only my week one with no job, but everyday feels like Friday and I am having a hard time keeping things straight. Thank goodness I have put most things in my phone and with alarms.
Next week I really need to get myself on a schedule - a regular sleep schedule and a do things schedule.
Zen? would you be interested in overlapping on the job search parts of that?
Woo, msbelle!
I read a tip about writing cover letters I really liked: pretend you are a high born elf master who is absolutely sure of being excellent at all things. Then you get to say, naturally my skills and background will solve all your organization's problems! I will easily meet all challenges due to my preternatural interpersonal abilities! My high energy approach will stun and amaze subordinates, peers and upper level management!
At least you will be in a better mood when you tone down the hyperbole into an actual cover letter.

Or when your opening sentence is "I am a high born elf master."
I feel like I might be able to pass myself as an elf master but not as high born.
Yes, I don't think I will ever be high born.
Msbelle, I didn't get a chance to say anything about your "letting go", but that was a sort of terrible way to do it
Theo- I am glad your nephew was deputized
I had my first ever professional manicure and acrylics tonight. I just got "covers" not tips so my nails are still super short, which I like. The place is literally across the street from my house, and my nails were totally shot from the cleaning, and then refinishing and buffing the woodwork. The woman was super nice, and a little bit of a kindred spirit (she refinished all the furniture in her place from 1940's/50's stuff and also thinks wearing gloves in the garden is silly, because then you can't feel the dirt)! It was also pretty affordable without the tips, so I may continue to go, but I had just wanted a cleanup so I didn't look like a crazy person with cherry wood stained nails at my office job!
