Thank you, -t and Theodosia. I needed that.
msbelle, I hope it goes well, or went well!
All the jobs seem to be looking for an energetic go-getter who thrives in a challenging fast-paced environment. I feel like the opposite of those things. Surely someone wants to pay a weary sarcastic questioner of authority to fix all the dumb crap they're doing wrong
surely

In my experience, companies who THINK they want energetic go-getters actually NEED world-weary problem solvers. The trick is faking energetic go-getter in the interview.
"challenging fast-paced environment" just means "we are probably under-staffed and need you to figure out stuff on your own." Which you know you can do.

This should be memed and shown every Christmas.
I suspect "challenging" means no one is going to help you, and "fast-paced" means constantly playing catch-up because disorganized and inefficient.
Yup, sounds right. Alla dat.
Interview~ma, msbelle!
I'm about to go see Jumanji 2. I rented the first one (the first recent one with Mr the Rock) but I only got about 10 minutes into it. So it goes.
Well,my org is definitely fast-paced and we're neither disorganized nor inefficient. We just have a ton of complicated work to do on deadlines.
I've really enjoyed all the Jumanji variations. Good fun.
I've also worked places that THOUGHT they were fast-paced, but in fact, were not. Mostly I think people don't know how to write job postings.
Smiling for an hour is TOO MUCH for me right now in my life. That said - I think it went well - she has 5 potential positions to put me up for or inquire about. She thinks I should be able to get my desired salary and she didn't say anything about re-doing my resume.
