Ah, the pitter patter of tiny feet in huge combat boots. Shut up!

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Kinda glad there isn't a work holiday party. I've had enough holiday music at work to last a long time.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

There was a Secret Santa Cookie Exchange at work, but I didn't participate. Not that I would have had time today in particular, but since most nice cookies are made with tons of milk and butter, it really would be giving a lot of serious trouble to someone who drew me.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

So the work party was just fine, especially because a good chunk of it is awards and raffle, and another chunk was waiting (coat check in and out, bar, buffet), so I didn't actually have to talk to people much! And a woman I just hired won an award for her previous work, which was fun.

Matt it's asking me if I want to download something, which makes me metaphorically run away screaming, but...

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

It just looks like a room to me? I feel like I'm missing something.

That's good, Jesse!

Hang in there, Zenkitty. You are better and more deserving of getting paid a lot of money than you currently feel. You're doing great jumping through all the hoops.

Take full advantage of whatever Unemployment orientation and training is offered -- IMHO only 10% of it is really helpful, you just don't know which 10%. If nothing else, you can go over approaches to writing up your resume, since that's a trendy stylistic thing these days.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

Informational interview over FaceTime with a placement agency in 1 hour. cross all digits.

I'm showering and trying to figure out what to wear and what to do with dogs.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Thank you, -t and Theodosia. I needed that.

msbelle, I hope it goes well, or went well!

All the jobs seem to be looking for an energetic go-getter who thrives in a challenging fast-paced environment. I feel like the opposite of those things. Surely someone wants to pay a weary sarcastic questioner of authority to fix all the dumb crap they're doing wrong

surely

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

In my experience, companies who THINK they want energetic go-getters actually NEED world-weary problem solvers. The trick is faking energetic go-getter in the interview.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

"challenging fast-paced environment" just means "we are probably under-staffed and need you to figure out stuff on your own." Which you know you can do.
