Our wings are not tired.

That's nice, Beverly. I would find that comforting too.

My customer's being closed for a few days means I get to spend more time working. Whee!

I've been trying to spend less time working, and being somewhat successful. I've watched the first season of Twin Peaks, which I missed previously in life. Debating whether to go see DH's basketball team play tonight or chill here.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Three feet of snow??? It's not even December yet!

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

I had four work-related passenger trips today, which is a lot! Happily two of the four resident-passengers were going to find their own way home, so that was only SIX actual rides. Two of them with The Bus, but I was really noticing that the traffic in Harvard Square dropped off noticeably -- the result of some people taking this as a vacation week, or leaving on Tuesday to avoid Wednesday Travel Hell Day. Even a 2-5% slackening adds up to freer-feeling traffic.

We had potluck lunch for staff today -- I made cupcakes. It's still kind of unexpected to have Coworkers and things like Holidays Off.

Also one of the residents gave a LARGE box of Serenade Chocolates to the staff. They are a m a z i n g.

You've got friends to have good times with. When you need to share the trauma of a badly-written book with someone, that's when you go to family.

Theo, that's a huge difference! WSDOT is telling drivers here to double or triple the normal expected travel times, starting tomorrow; Ken is leaving Rupert the Mini at home and riding the bus. (Also cheaper: it's $25 round trip to bring a vehicle on the ferry, but only $8 to walk on.)

ETA: uh-oh, my goddaughter up on Whidbey is probably cursing a blue streak, as a bunch of the evening sailings on Wednesday and Thursday have been cancelled because of tidal currents.

In a good way, right??

Definitely in the good way -- these are nice people, for sure.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

My condolences, Plei.

I just got a Facebook notice that it is my (deceased) uncles birthday. Should we have done something to switch the account?

Sophia, do you mean to make it a memorial account, or deactivate it? There's info here on doing either; you have to be able to demonstrate that you're an immediate family member or the executor for removal.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Snow is pretty to look at when you have power and no place else you have to be. It's a misery to have to travel in. To a greater or lesser degree depending on the judgement of other drivers.
