Theo, that's a huge difference! WSDOT is telling drivers here to double or triple the normal expected travel times, starting tomorrow; Ken is leaving Rupert the Mini at home and riding the bus. (Also cheaper: it's $25 round trip to bring a vehicle on the ferry, but only $8 to walk on.)
ETA: uh-oh, my goddaughter up on Whidbey is probably cursing a blue streak, as a bunch of the evening sailings on Wednesday and Thursday have been cancelled because of tidal currents.
Definitely in the good way -- these are nice people, for sure.
I just got a Facebook notice that it is my (deceased) uncles birthday. Should we have done something to switch the account?
Sophia, do you mean to make it a memorial account, or deactivate it? There's info here on doing either; you have to be able to demonstrate that you're an immediate family member or the executor for removal.
Snow is pretty to look at when you have power and no place else you have to be. It's a misery to have to travel in. To a greater or lesser degree depending on the judgement of other drivers.
Zenkitty - don't forget about the consequences to your income tax preparation. Most freelancers receive a form 1099-MISC. Will your employer be withholding any taxes for you? Will you be filing a Schedule C? Will you be able to claim any expenses?
Employer will not be doing any withholding. I'll be hiring a tax preparer next year to make sure I get everything done right. I should be able to claim expenses.
Make sure you set aside at least 30% for taxes from the very beginning!
In other news, we're looking at 4 feet of snow in the Sierra. If we can get there, the skiing will be great. If.
