When come back bring pie!
Yesterday we took Matilda to tour at Ruth Asawa School of the Arts (aka, SotA).
Which is a public high school in the SFUSD, but it's very competitive to get in and Matilda will have to submit a portfolio, audition and submit an essay.
She's applying to the Media and Film Department. (That's been her elective the last two years.)
So her portfolio will consist of a short film she has to finish in the next few weeks.
And the audition in February is a four hour workshop/interview type thing.
A little stressful! But it would be an amazing opportunity for her to focus on filmmaking in high school.
Jacqueline was in the inaugural class at SotA to graduate after attending all four years. So it was very strange for her to be walking those halls again.
Wow! That sounds incredible.
IJWTS I am getting red beans and rice for lunch and I had the option of getting red beans and rice as a side and I did not take it but everyone needs to know that red beans with a side of red beans is an option.
I love red beans and rice so much that I would probably get red beans and rice as a side dish with my main dish of red beans and rice.
It was tempting, but I was pretty sure the main dish serving would already be more than I could eat. We'll see how it goes.
My pie was not delivered, alas.
Does Matilda get any bonus points for being the daughter of a grad? (Every advantage like that is worth it, IMHO.)

Not for high school. Though if she applied to Kenyon, she'd automatically move to the second round of applicants as a legacy.
I'm jamming falafel in my face for lunch.

Vassar will give her a boost, too!
