I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

You know what is exhausting keeping someone else busy all day when they don't know enough to work solo yet?

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Sounds like parenting a four year old.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Happy belated anniversary, sj!

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Hair is shiny and re-blondified. The holidays may commence.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

That has been my job for a year and a half!

At least we are staggering our days a bit so now I got the last 45 min alone.

Sophia, if you are still having to guide someone to tasks to do after a year and a half, they are not a good fit for the job.

It has been two people, but this one was given a choice to leave on her own terms, and will be gone by the end of the month. Thank god. I despair that we will find someone for what we are paying, but we have a good internal candidate for half the position and the other half we are requesting a second admissions counselor type person.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Evidently Mercury is seriously retrograde just now, but perhaps it's not just me that is experiencing it.

Today I was supposed to pick up a resident (seriously compromised with Alzheimer's) with her escort: showed up on time, waited about 25 minutes, finally went into the office building to see if I could figure out which office (dentist, thank goodness the ONLY dentist in a big building), and found that the escort had just assumed I'd come in to find them. Note: I've never had to do that before.

Note: the escort had her hands full: on the way out, the resident announced she had to visit the bathroom, which added at least ANOTHER 10 minutes before we set out.

(Halfway through the drive, the nice resident asked me where we were going. Short term memory, not so much. At least she didn't have to pee, so there's that.)

Most of the residents aren't mentally compromised like this. I don't think I could work long in a memory care facility before I got snappish and stressed.

Note to self: in the future where there's an escort person, get their direct cellphone number. A quick text five minutes after I arrived would have moved stuff along sooner. (Resident probably still would have needed the bathroom break. Ah well.)
