"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Ugh, Sophia. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little nervous about taking ltc to school tomorrow.

Oh man, Gris, I forgot you had moved! How tough—the few things I've read about the guy just sound horrific and ridiculous.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

Health~ma, Sue.

News from Brazil are disheartening (then again, who am I to say such a thing, being from where I am). Gris, I hope you will be able to build and strengthen bridges, individually and as a community. And take care.

Our wings are not tired.

I'm sorry about the shingles, Sue. May the drugs work quickly and effectively.

We have a large Brazilian population here and I have heard surprisingly little about the horrible situation there from my local friends. I suspect this is because they are unable to do much more than worry about their families and friends.

Monday. Was up at 6 to get a jump on the work day, and yet. Maybe some more coffee.

Hey. New board.

As usual, there were plenty of "respectable" reasons to vote for Bolsonaro, number 1 of which is that his only tenable competitor came from a party that has held power for over a decade through bribes and corruption and insanely unsustainable economic populism. But it sure sucks that the only candidates to have a chance were Tammany Hall and Bigot Fascist.

It really is horrible, Gris. Brazil has so much going for it, but it has been destroyed and bled dry by corruption for so long.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I'm sorry for you, Gris, and the people of Brazil, but it's kind of a nice reminder of how often we in the US have had two basically decent choices....

I wasn't watching the Red Sox last night, but am still sleepy today, so am hoping I will be camouflaged by baseball fans! I was basically standing up from noon to 6 yesterday, between a trans rights rally and the regular band session, and that takes a lot out of me! Is it weird that walking fast makes me less tired than standing still?

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Is it weird that walking fast makes me less tired than standing still?

Not at all. I think standing upright without walking is harder on your back and legs.

One of the other school mom's is very upset today and meeting with the school about what she sees as security issues. I hate this.

I'm sorry, sj. Is the school at a Jewish organization?
