Mal: So we run. Nandi: I understand, Captain Reynolds. You have your people to think of, same as me. And this ain't your fight. Mal: Don't believe you do understand, Nandi. I said 'we run'. We.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I was going to gt a flu shot today, but my shoes are not comfortable, so now I don't feel like going for the walk! Booo.

Why isn't everyone pelting me with JOY, dammit? - Zenkitty

Hilariously, after trying to set up one (1) date with one (1) annoying guy, my mother is giving up on internet dating!

I hear ya, sister!

It seems like I have finally gotten some ducks in some rows on getting my house back in order. Next step, guys are coming tomorrow morning to pack everything out of the living room, kitchen, and dining area so asbestos abatement can do their thing. I don't know why (except the classics, avoidance & denial), I kept thinking, "They'll handle everything!" and I'd just have to shift and rearrange a few things I want kept back or out of the way. But last night I was looking around at HOW VERY MUCH STUFF I want to have dealt with before the packers come, and I'm a little overwhelmed. Not enough to melt down and just choose not to deal - that's not an option. But I am frantically texting all my local friends in the hopes of getting a spare body or two in to help me deal with SERIOUSLY SO MUCH STUFF.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

The phrase "[blank] ALL THE THINGS!" is a golden gift to all of us, and we should appreciate it more.

I am feeling the weight of ALL THE THINGS lately. My Destination Imagination team is a hot mess this year. There are two kids who can't stop shouting and roughhousing and one who bursts into tears whenever their ideas aren't immediately picked up (but also doesn't, like, TELL anyone else that they have an idea, so???) And all the other parents are either former teachers or psychologists, so I'm basically the least qualified out of anyone to be the team manager but nobody else volunteered. So YEAH. FUN TIMES.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

So today I spent wrestling my resume in order to apply to this job that I think I might really want, and now I have to do a cover letter, which is apparently much more complicated than it used to be, lo these many years ago.

I'd like to go take a walk but it's raining really hard.

Hey. New board.

As a current teacher who teaches engineering and works with our lower school theater and did DI, I am still completely unqualified to be a DI team manager. I don't have small group patience.

Because books.

Tuesday is being way too much like a Monday for me.

Good news on the house stuff, Epic!

And excellent progress on the resume, Zen! But I agree that cover letters are needlessly complicated now.

Jessica, that sounds ... not fun. I only ever ran a Daisy troop once, and that almost did me in. And we didn't even sell cookies.

I would get a flu shot but I've been sick for 10 days without any real getting better, so that's probably out.

It is not! Just write a thing that says why you want the job and would be good at it! The end.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Been raining all day. Ugh.

I'm actually curious -- what's the current advice re: cover letters? Because I promise, the ones I'm getting are just regular AT BEST.
