OMG, why on a Friday do I have a meeting with fancy faculty members at 9, a meeting with a donor AND her lawyer (and I never meet with donors!) at 1, AND a candidate to interview at 2:30! This day is going to be brutal.

Aw, meara, you're the wee sprog whose growing up is unpossible!
Yeah, that's way too much, Jesse. All morning (I'm barely out of bed, but still) I have been thinking "5 days is to many days to work" and I just remembered that I took Monday off so I haven't even worked 5 days! It's still too much.
I kind of hate a short week, because it's jammed full of the same amount of stuff as a regular week! I'm actually thinking that next year I should take this whole week off -- mostly I want Tuesday off, but a three-day week somehow seems even worse!
That is true
I don't know why this is amusing me so much, but I'll share in case it amuses y'all: I have a customer who begins every email request with "Good news! We are featuring your product in an event [blah blah blah, here's a short deadline that may or may not result in actual orders]" so I see that and kind of cringe because it usually just means more work with little pay off, but the email they just sent me was requesting availability of items that we have a lot of and are looking to unload AND that are still getting a good price, so I read her email and said out loud "that IS good news" and felt like laughing at myself
Sincerely,
-t
5 days is way too many to work. I think maybe a 2.5 day week would be good?
Aren't there studies that show working more than 6 hours a day is a waste of time?
I definitely rarely work 6 hours a day! (How long I'm in the office is a different story...)
That sounds like something I've read somewhere.
I read an article that said people over 40 shouldn't work more than 6 hours a day. I showed it to my boss. She was not convinced, but I was.
Maybe that's what I'm thinking of.
