Even after being back in California for 14 years, my first thought when I feel an earthquake is "maybe it's a big truck going by?". It's never a big truck. Big trucks don't even come that near my house.
Miss Kitty was not bothered at all. She's so chill.
I feel like I have to report on my breakfast just because it's kind of odd - amaranth porridge with pepper jack cheese. Pretty good!
Oh! I feel like some of you will appreciate this: one of the people I had staying with me this weekend is a roustabout! That's his job! He had just finished moving a Cirque du Soleil show to Atlanta.
Huh, my job has an offer out to my replacement and I have not even submitted a resignation letter.
CAUSE I HAVE NO NEW JOB!!!!
Yeah I am feeling super great!
Not at all having an anxiety attack.
Nope, just super chill.
Sent my boss a "hey, if you don't mind me asking, what's the plan here?" Email.
Also doing nothing but applying to jobs for the rest of the day.
Ay, msbelle. I was going to complain about having to actually physically go into the office this afternoon, but never mind.
Jfc, msbelle! (That reminds me! I owe you an edit on your resume!)
Also, roustabout! Nice! I was just thinking today how I used to know a stevedore.
Today I drove The Bus on a hour-long Fall Foliage Tour.. at least as much color as a half-hour's distance from the city allows, anyway. It seems that the 'season' moves a couple of days later every year around here.
At least I can take pride in supplying a smooth and safe ride. We covered 15 miles or thereabouts, much of it not on the highway. Driving the bus for an hour straight is kind of exhausting, just the steering wheel itself is significantly bigger than a girly little sedan one, so there's more muscle involved in turning it!
