Here's hoping a new, non-stressful job makes an appearance in short order, Zen.

Best wishes on your son's surgery Cindy.

Gud, was your wife struck mute by the powers that be on the way past the state park she wanted to visit? If not, the mistake was hers, not yours.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Yeah, I just caught up on the news. That was a bad idea.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Son~ma, Cindy!

That does sound somewhat fun, Jesse.

Your vacation doesn't really sounds somewhat fun, Gud. It also doesn't sound like you have ruined everything by forgetting to stop at one park. The world would be a whole lot poorer without you, hon, please believe us about that.

I wish I knew more people here or the students in my classes wanted to hang out (but really, not like a 19 year old boy and I are going to be besties, he's busy drinking and partying). Two new girls in class today (in addition to the boy, from last week). One is two months into a journey with her husband to bicycle through South America. They plan to take a year. Dang!

Meanwhile, doing laundry—the guy unlocked the laundry closet for me again (after last time when I had to pay him $10 to do that he said he'd do it again). Apparently I'm here two weeks but they don't clean at any point...but also don't normally let people do wash....so, two week old sheets? Kinda gross. Not thrilled. I have another week here, then a day in Bogotoa, then I fly home.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

My son is having his surgery tomorrow. Your thoughts, prayers, good wishes, and vibes are appreciated.

All the good vibes.

I fucked it up because that's what I do

You didn't fuck up, and that's not what you do. You're a very intelligent, competent, hard-working and productive person who has an abusive, gaslighting wife.

Zen! Fuck those fuckers! I hate them for you.

Nilly! [glances up at Hebrew blessing still over kitchen door]

I'm sorry, Zen. I hope you find a new, better job quickly.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

You may have erred, Gud... but so did your wife. How long ago did she express a wish to see the park? Did she go over the plan of where you were going to drive in detail? Did you two allot hours of travel with a break indicated so that you could stop at the park? And why didn't she say anything until you were well past it?

If she's heaped all the decision making on you, then she isn't holding up her end of the bargain. She just gets the pleasure of castigating you for the 'mistakes' you make. Maybe that gives her pleasure, or at least lets her put some of her unhappiness off on another being.

Cindy, fingers crossed on the surgery!

I led an exercise class today! I mean, low impact, mostly seated in a chair type exercises, but hey.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Best thoughts for you and your son, Cindy!
