Mal: You tell me right now, little Kaylee, you really think you can do this? Kaylee: Sure. Yeah. I think so. 'Sides, if I mess up, not like you'll be able to yell at me.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Unfortunately, it's Bernie Sanders who just had to get a stent or whatever.

Ugh. There is no hot water in my Airbnb. And the issue with the laundry. Not pleased.

Thrive to spite them

Tomorrow the high is supposed to be 97 and on Friday 95. Then a cold snap and the high on Saturday will be around 77 and then next week it will be (hopefully) in the high 70s and low 80s.

I somehow got into a current events discussion with a coworker. One coworker , who said she is 38, claimed she is NOT A Millennial and Millennials are the kids in school and both of them were talking about how kids these days don't know how easy it is. And then somehow it segued into the older coworker saying that no matter how you feel about the current administration they are bringing industry and manufacturing back to the US and the current policies mean that America will once again be self reliant like they were back in the day. And coal will come back! I really should have stopped talking and walked away but somehow I couldn't.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

I'm very sorry that I can only seem to duck in here for a quick post. Just wanted to say that Hamilton was phenomenal! Ryan was thrilled, and has been singing snatches of it since.

We're now in D.C. with 36-degree weather (97F). Mosquitoes have been devouring Ryan, we have confirmation that he's a nummy treat. Thanks to Hamilton, we know who to blame for tge nation's capital being built on a swamp. More when I get the chance.

Oh! And a reply to DebetEsse from so long back: I'm afraid you're right, we won't be getting out of Honolulu while we're in Hawaii. Indeed I think we'll barely make it off Waikiki Beach.

Herding cats for fun

Happy travels, billytea and family! Don't let the MAGA hats get you.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Today was the hottest October 2nd since they started keeping temperature records in my county, and the hottest October temperature recorded since 1897.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

Yeah, I figured. Have a Dole Whip for me.

Yikes, everyone! We're actually pretty seasonal here -- it was in the 70s yesterday, but only in the 50s today.

Our wings are not tired.

Still in hot Florida. Looking at 86F today, so not too bad. My plan was originally to go back to Otter Lake the 4th and stay until the end of the month. Now my sister has to have a medical procedure on the 11th, which I would like to stay for, and DH has basketball try-outs on the 15-17th. So now it looks like I won't get back until the 19th at the earliest, with my SILs and their sons arriving on the 20th. Yikes. Then spend about a week and head back.

It wouldn't be so bad except I left quite a lot of stuff up north thinking I was only here a short time. Like my vitamins, my work phone, favorite cooking devices. Ugh.

Because books.

That's such a long trip, too, Laura! But October up there must be beautiful.

Anyone have thoughts on the best paper to subscribe to online? I'm waffling between the NY Times and the Washington Post.
