I have like 90% fewer cold symptoms today than I did yesterday. I have no idea what the hell my body is doing.

Skipping madly to say that we have thirty minutes to Hamilton. Wish us show tunes!
Whee, billytea!
Yay healing, Dana? I hope it continues apace.
Tentative yay! for Mac, and a heartfelt attagirl for Msbelle. That's a hard, very adult thing to do. I hope you're able to continue to succeed at it.
Now I want cinnamon toast. I've already had my bread allowance for today. I could mortgage tomorrow's, I suppose.
Yay on third week of work, Theo! When do you get job health insurance?
Ohh, happy couch, Scrappy! Finding a design you like that's comfy is always fun--sales are even better! Over a couple of months we replaced our old futon and serviceable but dowdy loveseat, and my Dad's club chair--comfy but it didn't work in the room--with a tidy recliner, a new loveseat, and a big blue chair and matching ottoman. With my MiL's MCM chair reupholstered in a Spoonflower atomic print fabric, it's like a whole new room. With light, and air, and no frumpy slumpy furniture full of throws and extra pillows. We are enjoying it so much!
Sometimes avoidance is wise, Matt. Will you be able to slip out for some BBQ, at least?
Happy Showtunes, billytea!
Healing is good, Dana.
Laura, umphf. You get hugs and hairpats and sympathy and tea if you want it. I hate it that he's slipped into that state of not caring. I don't know if it's exec dysfunction, or fear of failure/fear of success, or whatEver but I'm still fighting it myself, and StY has it worse than me. I'm in somewhat the same boat with him as you are with your elder son--StY's gf called me yesterday for advice. I really don't have any. All her instincts are on point, and he's brought it all on himself. I wish you and yours all the luck in the world. Maybe this time will be the time. ***hugs***
Have fun in the room where it happens, Billytea!
I maxed out on some socialness this weekend, so I skipped the ski club gathering and instead did laundry, yard work, and cooking. Now a busy friend will come over and help eat some healthy mostly-veggie cassoulet, and we'll drink some wine in preparation for yet another week of madness from Washington.
Timelies all!
Well, this weekend was basically a shitshow, thanks to Mr. S's behavior.
I'm sorry, Sheryl and Laura. Tons of sympathy and ~ma in your way.
I also wish the cold I got this weekend would finally go away. I really want to exercise again (it's the best way for me to manage stress, and I have tons of it at the moment), but can't until I can breathe normally again, as it is required for this kind of action.

ltc and I are having a pajama day today. She doesn't have school today or tomorrow for Rosh Hashanah, but she'll spend most of tomorrow with my mother. I think she misses pajama day now that she's in school 5 days a week.
Pajama day sounds perfect.
So I'm hosting people during the big band festival here in a couple of weeks (big festival of bands, not festival of big bands. although my band is very large!), and the people I am hosting asked if one could come on Thursday instead of Friday with the rest. I said sure, and then found out it's a man, which makes me a little anxious, it turns out! I'm sure he's fine. But it just feels like a whole different vibe.
Huh. Forever 21 just filed for bankruptcy.
