Have fun in the room where it happens, Billytea!
I maxed out on some socialness this weekend, so I skipped the ski club gathering and instead did laundry, yard work, and cooking. Now a busy friend will come over and help eat some healthy mostly-veggie cassoulet, and we'll drink some wine in preparation for yet another week of madness from Washington.
Timelies all!
Well, this weekend was basically a shitshow, thanks to Mr. S's behavior.
I'm sorry, Sheryl and Laura. Tons of sympathy and ~ma in your way.
I also wish the cold I got this weekend would finally go away. I really want to exercise again (it's the best way for me to manage stress, and I have tons of it at the moment), but can't until I can breathe normally again, as it is required for this kind of action.

ltc and I are having a pajama day today. She doesn't have school today or tomorrow for Rosh Hashanah, but she'll spend most of tomorrow with my mother. I think she misses pajama day now that she's in school 5 days a week.
Pajama day sounds perfect.
So I'm hosting people during the big band festival here in a couple of weeks (big festival of bands, not festival of big bands. although my band is very large!), and the people I am hosting asked if one could come on Thursday instead of Friday with the rest. I said sure, and then found out it's a man, which makes me a little anxious, it turns out! I'm sure he's fine. But it just feels like a whole different vibe.
Huh. Forever 21 just filed for bankruptcy.

My fifteen-year-old is heartbroken.
I don't think I had any idea how big it had become, or how much girls her age liked it. It felt to me like it opened in our local mall and closed only two years later (and it's already been closed for two or more years), so it's not exactly an age-old institution.
Then again, Sara referred to something that happened in 2018 as "a long time ago" just now, so...perspective.
It is surely my fault since I never shopped there.
