Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I couldn't figure out why I'm falling asleep at my desk when I went to bed at a reasonable hour, but then I remembered -- I woke up at an unreasonable hour! zzzzzzzzzzzz

Our wings are not tired

Laura I just want to give you and Brandon each a big hug.

I'm currently flying to Orlando so that I can attend a memorial tomorrow morning, then I fly home tomorrow evening.

Brendon is on his way to Orlando for a basketball tournament this weekend! I didn't go with him. I'm sorry your trip is for a memorial. If you find you have any time give him a shout because he no doubt would love to have a drink with you.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

I finished my third work week! This feels like my first full weekend, because I was too exhausted to enjoy the first one, and the second one was my cousin's memorial service trip, so that was not a normal weekend, either.

It doesn't look like I'm making enough money to live off of from the job, though -- with all the taxes et al taken out. When I can go on the job health insurance (which will be less of a bite than my Obamacare paid-by-me plan) that will ease up a bit.

I'm so sorry, Laura. That must be so hard.

I did get up early enough to take the dog for a run in the woods, and met the shade-installers. Now I have 3/4 of my new shades, but there was a typo on the orders and the shade to go over the kitchen sink is 70" wide instead of 40" wide. Woops. Still, the ones they installed look very nice.

It's a busy social weekend: I should get off the couch and go buy fruit for a fruit salad tomorrow...

From my brief visit to my son he apparently got the message that his living conditions were unacceptable. He has messaged me a bunch of times and says he is cleaning the place completely. He knows how upset I am and seems to be working on getting back on good terms with me.

Timelies all!

Not a terribly exciting weekend here. The cats go to the vet tomorrow for their annual checkup and shots, which means chasing Luna around to get her into her carrier. (Nova can be picked up and put in her carrier, though she will complain loudly and frequently.)

Sunday night starts Rosh Hashanah.

How does Mr. S get along with the cats? I found always having pets to be a good thing with the boys. I started them on feeding and watching the water bowl pretty early.

Well, Luna is scared of everyone, but it doesn't help when he yells and stomps in her direction. Nova...that varies. Some days he's sweet, wanting to "purr the cat" and other days he grabs her roughly.

It helps with socialization to have pets. Cats aren't as tolerant as most dogs, but they also can get away really easy.
