"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

I have finished reading a book, read a magazine, and took TCG out to dinner for his birthday. We also slept in until 10 after Francesca woke up at 6:45. Almost feeling human again.

Our wings are not tired.

My nephew called this morning and asked if I wanted to join on a mountain hike. Just a couple miles into the woods to a dam and back. Was good to move some after sitting on my butt all week. After the rest of the gang went up the ski lift to leaf peep, but I am way too leery of heights and declined that part. BTDT, not happening again!

That sounds nice Laura!!

My tour has begun! Didn't think I'd have to sit through a PowerPoint presentation, but oh well. 7 people, one canceled last minute so the girl I was going to have to share with gets her own room and so do I!! One 75 year old from Florida, one grumpy seeming dude who asked about a pharmacy so I'm hoping he was just not feeling well, one woman from Vancouver who seems awesome and is probably a little younger than me, and one guy from australia who is maybe in his 40s. Two more will join tomorrow, a couple from New Zealand. So hoping this should be good!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Who's the tour through, meara? That sounds so great.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Yes. That sounds fantastic!

I got some quality time with family (what's left of them) yesterday. Still can't believe my cousin is gone, since he was pretty much Lebowski's rug and really pulled the family together.

Today is more hanging, as everyone disperses to far places. I'm worried I won't see some of these people until the next funeral.

G Adventures (used to be GAP travel I think?) but it's a tour they do along with National Geogrphic so I assumed it would be an older crowd

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Yesterday I took Mom to a relative's birthday party in Little Rock and got to see my cousin's new condo mid-construction. Very nice, it was great to hang out with family. And I am jealous of the pool and clubhouse compared to the ones at apartment complexes I used to live at. They had wine and beer on tap in the game room!

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Sigh. Another day, another two weeks notice from the babysitter. (Not a total surprise - this woman was NOT a good fit, but still a PITA right in the middle of September.)

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

Currently at San Diego Zoo, i.e. My happy place. Have seen giant anteater and Andean condor, and wild hummingbirds. Is awesomeness.

Our wings are not tired.

San Diego Zoo is absolutely on my list. Enjoy!
