G Adventures (used to be GAP travel I think?) but it's a tour they do along with National Geogrphic so I assumed it would be an older crowd

Yesterday I took Mom to a relative's birthday party in Little Rock and got to see my cousin's new condo mid-construction. Very nice, it was great to hang out with family. And I am jealous of the pool and clubhouse compared to the ones at apartment complexes I used to live at. They had wine and beer on tap in the game room!

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Sigh. Another day, another two weeks notice from the babysitter. (Not a total surprise - this woman was NOT a good fit, but still a PITA right in the middle of September.)

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

Currently at San Diego Zoo, i.e. My happy place. Have seen giant anteater and Andean condor, and wild hummingbirds. Is awesomeness.

Our wings are not tired.

San Diego Zoo is absolutely on my list. Enjoy!

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

It has not been a good day with Mr. S, right from the start. sigh...

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I got some quality time with family (what's left of them) yesterday. Still can't believe my cousin is gone, since he was pretty much Lebowski's rug and really pulled the family together.

I'm sorry, Connie.

Yeah, that's cool. I would have assumed tours (other than Extreme Adventure, I guess?) would be all older couples or groups or something. Maybe I will take a solo adventure sometime!

Cheers for Matt and billytea, commiseration for Jess and Sheryl.

Yeah, it's interesting we are all solo except the one couple. Everyone seems pretty cool. Today we did coffee tasting (I think I can't really tell what's good, I liked the cheap over-roasted stuff). The hotel here is way better than the other place—there's an infinity pool! Though the thunderstorm means now it's a little cold for that

Had a nice run with my niece and her new puppy in the woods this morning, and now I'm fussing about getting ready to host the whole family for dinner. It will require getting 2 chairs out of the garage. I have done an experiment: a peach galette with frangipane underneath the peaches. Hope it works! (Clearly I have been watching too much GBBO.)

That sounds delicious to me, Suela! I love frangipane
